I've finished my new build and this one needs a new home. Has the exoterra screen enclosure 18x24x36 but door has been replaced with plexiglass for clearer viewing. Also comes with foam background. All other interior decor is not included.
I may be willing to give them a try... Thanks for the offer of eggs but I don't raise any insects. I prefer to buy in month long supplies, so he'll need decent size roaches. How fast do they grow?
They shipped overnight. Don't dubious need warmer temps than crickets? or is that just for breeding?
I did receive live shipments of BBF and BSF and waxworms, so he's not going to starve, but his staple is crickets as those are all he gets that I can gutload effectively. I was not...
They shipped with heat packs and an extra sleeve of cardboard if that counts for insulation. I set the box of crickets in front of the fireplace and I'm getting a few wigglers, so maybe not a total loss. The trouble is that they were delivered to any doorstep. might have been hours before I...
update: Tophat is going to have to honor their guarantee because their crickets did not make it here alive. They didn't do anything more than Josh's does for winter shipping, only Josh's must have already been down this road and took away their guarantee. Anyone need frozen crickets?
I just ordered from a place called Tophat crickets. They guarantee live delivery in winter so I'm hopeful. I did pay through the nose for shipping but 500 crickets will last me a good long time now that he's heating less.
Got a nice batch of frozen crickets in the mail, no fault of Josh's Frogs...its very cold in these parts! I'm having to resort to petsmart. Is there a better alternative? is this going to be a winter long problem?
Hi, I'm sorry I was referring not to actual pooled water like in a container but to water that landed on a leaf and pooled there, which probably isn't what you thought I meant (it was a bad description on my part). Normans dripper waters his plants so no pooling there, but if he doesn't get...
Norman doesn't seem to take pooled water in, I've only seen him go after dripping droplets. I used to aim the misters to the top of his screen and the droplets would hang there off the screen for a long time before they evaporated, and yet he rarely went for those. He's rigged by actively...
I think he's between 8-10 months old. I've had him since June and I believe he was about 3-4 month old. I really don't think he's ever been severely dehydrated, but I have seen a few chomps out of his pothos. His urates are white about 80% of the time. They get a little orange tinged on...
So Norman is notorious for being difficult to hydrate. He has his mister and he may take a couple drops from that where I can see it happen, but if you watch him with a dripper you can see the trouble. I have it set to drop once every second, maybe a bit faster. Its tip is at mouth level when...
I found 18" blinds on Amazon.com for 6 bucks a piece! I couldn't not do it! I am loving the fact that it keeps the cats at bay. Of course they still peer in from the front, but that being plexiglass I've less fear of screen destruction. And they will full on attack the screen. Norman seems...
Scary thought for sure, but you have to wonder what the odds would be, especially if you trapped in a wooded area, that the insect picked up enough poison in its daily feeding foray and held onto enough of it to cause an issue by the time it makes it to the cham. What symptoms would one look...
It was one fail after another, but in the end a serviceable habitat that Norman seems to really love! It was all worth it! The wanderlust seems to instantaneously be resolved and he no longer begs to be let out constantly. The good news is all that wanting out opened the relationship to my...
I feel like the simple solution (or partial solution) would be to support the idea of as many wild caught insects as possible. And yet many here don't support this. I get that there are risks involved such as pesticides and parasites, but I wonder if the risks outweigh the benefits based on...
Well, in the end, I had the same trouble the second time around, even though I kept the frames square as I made them. I am beginning to realize its the size that is the issue. The frames just cannot support all that tension at that size. The good news is that having redone it all, I did get...
