i guess in happy my chameleon is shedding FAST....
No signs of it at 8:00 this morning and 1:00 (5 hours) it's complete
But what behaviors do they exhibit while shedding out of norm?
My guy seems awful feisty(mad as hell) and elusive......and not much interested in some noshing.
Even after shed!
seems like I waste awful lot of food
Not sure if I'm simply giving too much or if it is drying out quicker than they can eat
Any solutions if you've experienced this?
Just something to know
The intensity of bulb will be the square of the inverse of the distance
So if you double the distance you will get 1/4 the effect
Triple the distance 1/9th
Don't rush it.....
3 weeks of patient work is all for naught when I thought it was okay to handle
Now he is not coming out when I put out food
I recommend slow progression with hand feeding and ultimately luring him to crawl onto your hand
I have a 2x2x3 enclosure and it works great.
I have soil in bottom with plants
Mist twice a day
It dries out after mistings and soil is on dry side.... Get the right mixture
It holds humidity well
I'd love to have that 5' wide unit
If it's anything like gout in humans, I can attest it's excruciatingly painful.... Even when not moving.
Antibiotics will do nothing.... You need anti inflammatory/pain meds and something to help body eliminate the uric acid.
Lots of water... So I'd increase mistings to get drinking...
Make slow changes to light timer
Myself, I use a timer that turns lights on 45 minutes after sunrise.... So it is a semi gradual light because of ambient coming through Windows
Off time is same except for when time change occurs... So he had a two hour difference of light between seasons... 12...
That's my whole point in the 2x/month recommendation.
It's such an inexact thing given all the factors.

I've been feeding my dubia only fruits and veggies from leftovers and too long kept for self consumption
Why dry needed?
