Dang dude, that's sweet. Good job!
Does the second flower have purple or black spots? I'm looking for a mostly black orchid flower or as close as I can find.
Welcome to the forums! Just a little word of advice, don't ever get rid of your reptile supplies. I am yet to find someone that doesn't become addicted to one type of critter or another. lol
Kinyonga gave some great links. Check those out.
I can tell you what I use and have success with:
-T5...
I'll take a gander again when I have to take the neonates out. I know last time I was worried they'd get out if I let the container remain open too long to inspect.
Me too. I'll let you know how they end up. Thank you for your help.
Kinyonga and Night Anole are correct. I suggest you take it to the vet ASAP, too. I just had a baby die for reasons related to a prolapse if not from the prolapse itself.
For the sugar water I just used as much sugar as I could dissolve in warm water. Basically when you see granules of sugar...
Anyway, I went and picked up new materials to start this project over I'm hoping that I can finish this one and then fix the first one without having to completely destroy it and start it over.
I changed up some things on this one, though. I'm not including planters made out of the foam for...
I agree, the topic is quite controversial. I have seen people say that pathos, satin pathos, ivy and other commonly used plants are toxic and suggest people don't use them for chams. I've used all three, and others for that matter, and have not had any issues that I'm aware of. None of the chams...
Very nice! If I ever to do a giant cage like that I'll definitely be calling you and your buddy. I like the custom tree of life you guys carved out for the front.
He's just proud of his work. Maybe he's a bit of a showoff, too. :ROFLMAO:
I think that may have been them. I don't remember seeing wings and I did not further inspect after I replied last. From what I remember they were fruit fly sized and there was only about 3 or 4 on the chameleon.
The reason I have not touched the incubation media is because I've had two neonates...
Alrighty time to get back at it. Unfortunately for my wallet I spent another $60 on plants because I didn’t like the ones I originally got as much as I had thought. Picked up some jumbo cork bark pieces and on my way to get the rest of the materials now. I figure I’ll just add to this thread to...
I have not changed it yet. I had a feeling I should wait for your response and I’m glad I did.
The bugs were small and black about the size of pinhead crickets. No wings. Almost looked like mites, but I’m not sure. What parasitic bugs are you referencing so I can look up and compare?
I have ambient temps in the room around 75 and then I’m using the t8 light as a basking lamp. No additional heat.
I do have some news that no one will want to hear. I checked on the baby before going into the office today and noticed it looked really sucked up and stressed. Due to this, I left...
I’ve never used anything but vermiculite. I have a clutch of Ambilobe eggs I’ve divided between vermiculite and hatchrite to see how/of the results differ.
What’s your incubation media of choice?
I checked on that batch of eggs tonight and noticed the one open one was molded over pretty...
I have some bad news.
I mist the enclosure every night before I turn off the lights. Tonight when I got home from the office I was exhausted and I pulled a really dumb, lazy move.
When coming into the room tonight I set down a spray bottle of water that I don’t typically use in order to tweak...
Oh great! That's what I was trying to accomplish. I'm glad it was a success.
I mean you have 30+ years experience with this and I have less than that. I'm not afraid to admit that I don't know exactly what to do sometimes other than make an educated guess. I've accepted that this might turn out...
Everything is room temp. I use room temp RO water for the Reptaboost and hold the loaded syringe in my hand for about a minute to make it a bit warmer. I'm afraid of using something warmer since it's so tiny. I don't want to over heat the baby.
Looks good!
I love when people use their creativity to create a unique environment for their cham (or future cham).
Since you asked for feedback here you go:
If it were up to me, I'd add more branches up top and give multiple levels to regulate heat/uvb. I feel like that top portion of the...
I have found using plain bulbs doesn't really work for my larger cages. I personally like to use the Zoo Med Reptibasking spot. I feel like those help direct the heat downward. They're shaped to do so. If you do that start with a low wattage. They get pretty hot. Otherwise, I think that 200w...
