Yep I agree with everyone. My male veiled has had the same black markings in the same places and has had that for years, so yours looks totally fine to me.
In Seattle, there’s the Bird and Exotic Animal Clinic (on Aurora) which I took my chameleon to. Dr. Lewis there seemed to know what she was talking about when I took my chameleon in for a physical exam a few months ago. The other vets probably also know what they are talking about, but I have...
I sort of thought about this but I wouldn’t think he’d be cold since it was like over 80 degrees in my room when he was really dark in those first photos. I suppose as long as he is acting well and all that then I will just assume it is a nonissue.
Glad to hear he’s not the only one! He seems well otherwise I just wanted to check. I wonder if the heat of summer right now is a signal for him to find a female.
So, my adult male veiled chameleon (4.5 years old) has been acting a bit strange behavior wise when I tried to feed him both today and yesterday. I cup feed him, and yesterday he ignored the bugs and instead eagerly climbed straight onto my arm. Today when I went to feed him, he seemed eager to...
I don't exactly know how to answer some of your questions, but just speaking from experience, the crickets I've gotten tended to die pretty fast, like within a few days, and get pretty nasty. Mine were from the pet store though, so maybe crickets from better sources would be different? Also...
Ok. Currently there is no hydrogen peroxide water he could drink. Also, would the vinegar likely be ok if it was only in while hes sleeping, or should I remove them entirely?
His urate (the one from within the last day at least) is mostly white with a little yellow part on the end.
And I...
(I also sort of wonder if I am even dealing with the fungus gnats in the best way cuz there wasnt much time to think something just had to happen. Little flies up the nose=not very enjoyable)
currently I have a fungus gnat problem that probably originated from my chameleon's live plants, since that was where the majority were flying around at first. Basically, I think the problem happened because we recently (like a few months ago) rearranged my chameleons enclosure and right now...
Idk if its just me but it looks pretty normal, like it kinda just looks like his normal coloration. I wouldn't worry about, especially if he's acting healthy and has had that for a while now. I'm also not an expert though so yeah, take that for whatever it's worth.
My chameleon has some black in his tail, idk if it’s normal, I mean it hasn’t always been there. I think it’s a recent thing but just wondering what people maybe think it is? Also he’s been in the plants recently, so maybe he got a bit of dirt on his tail ????
