Also it isn’t good to handle them if they are closing their eyes... it means they are so stressed they are giving up. So yeah just wanted to let you know what that was
Also you may have already thought about this but just wanted to mention it. When you take a cham outside be careful that no predator gets it. (Depending on what animals/birds live in your area) but I think the butterfly cage should help with that... though it is very fine fabric-like mesh if I’m...
Yep ive read threads on here where chameleons have run off outside. Sometimes they are found, sometimes they aren't. Also, my chameleon is kind of the same situation as the OP. I've never actually taken him outside, because he does not usually trust me enough. Also, I kind of need a plan and...
My veiled had those same white spots before, small, just a few, level. And it seemed to be shed. At any rate, he was acting normal, and they went away eventually
From the wild lol. Really though, I don’t know of anywhere where you can legally buy them. Unsure about grasshoppers, but locusts I’m pretty sure are illegal in the US. It’s Too bad
I mean that would make sense, similar to how with a healthy amount of bacteria any (I think?) animals immune system would get stronger. Too much would kill/harm any animal though
Just to add to this... personally the different opinions of everybody stress me out lol, (on everything about chameleon care) but I do feel that though we often target specific conditions, chameleons can do well in many conditions. And I do not mean you can neglect the animal and it will be...
It's sad. Which is why I have not been there in a year. I feel too terrible for the poor chameleons, or all the animals really. It sticks with me for days!!! So pretty soon we stopped supporting that buisness altogether.
OK your chameleon will be fine without eating for a while at that age. I mean when it is possible get more insects for him, but chams will go on hunger strikes for 2 weeks or more randomly, and they live. SO if you cant get food immediately do not panic he will be fine
Yes as others have said no food for a bit is not an issue. How old is the chameleon and what species?
Definitely offer it water but i wouldnt give it too much so your drowning it. Just give it some to drink.
We have some fresh herbs growing outside and i was just wondering... would herbs be good for gutloading? Just a few here and there? I would imagine they would, like they're good for people. But does anyone have any info, opinions on this? Thanks!
