Every setup is slightly different. Some folk use ordinary household bulbs, personally I use 100 watt normal (not coloured) basking bulbs. All my basking bulbs are ABOVE the screen and not on it. I also use a dimming thermostat with the probe at the basking spot which automatically adjusts the...
That size enclosure is simply not big enough for a panther or veiled chameleon.
Please take a look at the BASIC care sheets https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/
Basking lights are essential not only for heat but the light that stimulates the chams basking responses. You should never have...
All the above is good. I have a thought on your dripper though. I made a pumped system but it will work with gravity fed as well.
I positioned the end of the dripper tube, made from a hospital type drip so that you can finely control drip flow, above a pothos. It drips down the leaves and I...
We are limited in the UK and most places don't stock a good range of feeders.
Crickets, roaches, locusts are staples that most places stock.
Calci worms, supers etc aren't stocked by many but are available.
No chance of silk or horn worms etc. here or any other roaches apart from dubias...
Clearly this poor cham is going to be left in agony by yet another idiot who clearly has no business having any animal and is in no position to take care of it.
Sorry (to the majority here) to rant, but this is the reason I don't come on here so much lately. I'm sick of seeing animals basically...
I love the large Extra Tall's from Exo Terra. I've always gone with bio active setups and once setup and running for a while, they are very stable.
Downside is the weight, espiecially when loaded with drainage, soil, plants etc. You certainly can't move them!
I'm in the UK as well OP.
Yeah, unfortunately Bob has it. However his show as scabs for want of a better description. That lump in the photo is massively concerning.
It is contagious to other chams and some other reptiles so please take sensible precautions if you have any chance of contamination.
You really must see a...
I have tried the frozen cube method but didn't like it for 2 reasons. 1st is how wet it was when thawed (ok, this could be my method at fault) and it then goes off pretty quickly.
2nd is that not all my feeders really went for it. Calci worms and roaches seemed to go for it but locust, cricket...
Not sure I agree with chams not forming bonds. There is no doubt at all that Bob has and has his own pecking order of who he wants to hang out with. Thankfully I'm top of his list.
I don't post pics or videos of his behaviour as it is NOT normal and I don't want to give others the wrong...
