Hi everyone,
My 8 month old male panther doesn't seem to be a big fan of going outside. His vacation home is an overgrown, trellised jasmine plant in a 17 inch circumference, 3ish foot tall diy chicken wire contraption. I live in the southeast US so it's plenty warm and humid out this time of...
Why not try breeding the ones that get too big? I hear it's not difficult, so I've started trying the process myself with some big'uns. I've got about 5 that are already cacooned up, and I'm just waiting on them to hatch.
I'm currently working on making a new enclosure from scratch and lemme tell ya, I wish I had tried a re-furb first! All this lumber adds up in cost very quickly. I've seen some SUPER impressive enclosures that were made from refurbed cabinetry and the like. These are two of my favorites...
That's great news, and surprising! Did it continue to develop over the last couple days with the egg cut open, or do you think it was just doing better than expected at first?
My usual disclaimer: I'm a newbie, but I'd like to share my opinion on this topic! I wouldn't feel comfortable throwing any old un-treated stick from outside into my chameleon's cage, though I know that others do and they get along fine. I've heard stories of people taking driftwood from lakes...
Hey,
Anyone in Charlotte NC want to order some feeders together and save on shipping costs?
Also, are there any "local reptile groups"? I know there are fish and dart frog groups...
Thanks!
Thanks for the tips! I've got smallish ones, that's all they had.
Would carrots, sweet potatoes, or apples make good feed for the worms? That's all I've got at this exact moment.
Hi all,
I got some wax worms from petsmart and, while I got the best bunch available, they're pretty sluggish and dried up looking. Is there anything I can do to spruce them up a bit before attempting to feed them out?
Thanks!
KI23, from experience with dart frogs I can tell you that GE 100% silicone (after it completely dries) is safe for animals, just make sure it doesn't have any "anti-mold agents" or stuff like that. I've not heard of coco fiber going moldy in a normal use situation, that's one of its benefits...
I've seen this from time to time, and it kinda freaked me out the first time I saw it. I've heard that they're simply expelling their egg sac, some say to turn it over, before pulling it back into their womb...
How do you feed out your roaches, Virgil? I feel like they move so slowly that they don't grab attention like the crickets do, and I've got so much plant cover that they can hide forever. Even when I put them in a feeder cup they lay stone-still in the corner, or slide underneath the slice of...
