It helps if your chameleon eats dubias and cup feeds well. If you can load up the feeding dish with well gutloaded dubias and leave a carrot in the dish for the feeders, the food should be covered.
Hydration is more important to have covered. My chameleons have been well hydrated recently...
For your first chameleon enclosure, I would suggest not starting with a bioactive setup right away. You can alway add bioactive later, but getting bioactive correct the first time can be tricky and undoing it can be a mess, and moving you enclosure or rearranging for any reason becomes much more...
There is some excellent information in the resources section of this website on Gut-Loading that I will link below.

Good looking chameleon you have there!
This color shift could be a sign that he is too hot outside. Chameleons turn dark colors to absorb heat, and turn light colors to reflect heat. Having your chameleon outside is fine as long as your chameleon's enclosure has some dense vegetation so he can...
I have been accumulating a few over the past months for around $100. Normally they are listed for $160 and have a $60 coupon bringing the price down to $100, but it can only be used once per order.

I’ve gently sprayed the bottom outside and around the ground of my roach bins before and didn’t experience any noticeable die off. Typical home defense stuff. I also have ant baits in places outside.
I have some beautiful sub adult females looking for new homes. These girls are eating loads and growing fast. These girls are 7+ months.

Wow, that's interesting! I wish I had the same experience with Red Runners. Perhaps I didn't give my chameleons enough of a chance to acclimate to the change from Dubias. The screen cages I use (exo Terra or Reptibreeze) are not a perfect seal and while the adult Red Runners cannot escape, if...
Over the past few years I have experimented with colonies of Green Banana Roaches, Red Runner Roaches, Lobster Roaches, and Dubia Roaches to feed my chameleons. I am curious if anyone else's experience with these has been similar or different. Let me know, and thanks for looking...
