I haven't set the MistKing up in the little cage (that one), but I run the dripper pretty much every day and mist a ton.
If you had that setup with a MistKing going, I would put it up on something like a table, install a extra mist king bulkhead with like two feet of tubing and an elbow (for...
I give him a shower and deep clean his cage once a week. I tear everything down, stick him in his cage in the shower, and dump the Rubbermaid container and clean it while he's in the shower. The most it has ever gotten in a week is half full.
Ahh well, I am definitely no expert. It is sounding like he is a Red Bar Ambilobe then. I haven't seen many Ambilobes, so it, I hope, is excusable if I am wrong. He does have some very Sambava looking traits, but so do the other Red Bar Ambilobes on google images. Either way, your Boy is Really...
I just saw that picture of Leo's dad. Looks super Sambava, but possibly maybe could be Red Bar Ambilobe. The red bars sometimes look an awful lot like a Sambava.
I will refer to the experts on this one. Here are some pics that made me think Sambava. My Boy:
I agree. Methinks you have a Sambava, not an Ambilobe. The color patters are just too reminiscent of my boy (confirmed from Kammers to be a 100% Sambava CB). Sambavas are GORGEOUS. Definitely nothing wrong with that brother. My Sambava is capable of an UNBELIEVABLE range of colors. He is mega...
The starter system is perfect and can be hooked up to SEVERAL nozzles. I have one and bought three extra nozzles for my MASSIVE cage. You wouldn't need an upgraded model unless you had several chameleon cages and required a high power set up.
As for the drainage, how big is your cage? I found a...
I think I may have spoiled him too much with that outing the other day, he is very very very anxious today and has been running laps (including walking on the floor and climbing the ceiling) around his cage trying to get out. I have never seen him so eager to be let out. I opened his door, and...
For my mistking setup, I have three nozzles, one of which is a double nozzle, so four. I am going to use the double and a single on one side and just one single on the other side of the cage to create a gradient. I figure having three nozzles on one side will probably do nicely for the size of...
My large clear side atrium just shipped!!!! I cannot wait to put it together. It delivers Tuesday so hopefully I can have it up and running by the end of the week. I have a lot of custom stuff to do. Active draining system, and potting plants, and the foam and whatnot. This is going to be SWEET.
Thanks for the kind words everyone! I am really enjoying improving his quality of life. It is very rewarding and I find myself super excited all the time to learn new things and buy him stuff. LOL!
Speaking of which... THE LARGE CLEARSIDE ATRIUM SHIPPED TODAY!!!!! WHOOOO! It's scheduled for...
My GOD he is so MAJESTIC. That is it! I must be a Parsonii keeper someday. I am going to keep panthers for several more years and keep researching everything. Someday!
Also, what kind of bromeliads are those that you have in there? I have been trying to figure it out because I think they are beautiful and I want to have a few in my enclosure.
That is what I am thinking that I will do. I still have a bit to think about it though as my cage hasn't shipped yet. It should be shipping any day.
GORGEOUS Parsonii by the way! I am really jealous. I would love to have one of those bad boys around the house, but I fear I won't for a ling...
I think you should be fine with one or two nozzles in a cage the size of the one you have. I bought the large Dragon Strand Clearside Atrium so I had to beef up the misting system and lights quite a bit. I hope my sambava will appreciate it. He's slightly grouchy.
