When you talk about "those containers", do you mean these? That's where I have my crickets and they stay dying as well. Is this not enough ventilation?
Same here lol, good thing my computer screen is facing a wall :cautious:
And @dshuld I'm pretty sure my mom thinks I'm slightly crazy by now lol. I always have some weird thing going on with plants, new bugs, pieces of wood... She'll walk to the garage and find me covered in paint, chasing...
How many of you daydream about your chams while you're at work?
I have a pic of mine as my computer screensaver and I think it makes me miss him even more lol. He's been outdoors in his new cage the past few days and his attitude has completely changed. Can't wait to get home so I...
I’d make sure to give your cham a lot of space just in case. Mine just happened to be stressed when he went on a hunger strike because guests were staying in the house but as soon as they left and the house was more quiet again he started eating.
And about what Jill said, just a few days ago...
That's what happened to me lol. I no doubt wanted a Panther because of the colors... but then I join this forum and see some of the pics here and they're so stunning! Now I really want to get a veiled someday
I'm not sure what the veterans will think of this and by all means please correct me if I'm wrong so I can learn too! But my chameleon also LOVES wax worms. He'd eat those too when everything else failed. They are very fatty, of little nutritional value and not recommended for a cham's regular...
What about the roaches? I still haven't ventured down the roach path lol (I don't trust anything that can fly directly to my face without warning :ROFLMAO:) but I hear most chams really love them!
Here in the US you can find hornworms in some pet stores. Roaches normally have to be ordered online. If you cant find hornworms in pet stores over there I'd check online for websites that sell and ship feeders to your area :)
When my cham went through a hunger strike, the only thing he did...
Holy crap!
None of those bite? I don't know why but I grew up with the perception that mantis bite and are aggressive. Having a chameleon has really made me step out of my comfort zone when it comes to bugs lol... I've always loved animals but insects sketch me out... you never know if...
Following this thread for my own general knowledge. I wasn’t expecting such an agressive shake either, that’s crazy. I wonder why this only happens at night and what’s keeping her up. My cham usually always falls asleep when his surroundings get dark. Do you have any lights on for him at night...
For a 10 month cham I’d obviously have to let them grow a little right? Is it too complicated? Gonna do some research and look into it. I think the pricing is pretty good. Thank you for always being so helpful
Guess that's why they say they're a hobby and not really a pet :) It was hard the first couple of weeks because I'm very hands on and curious, but I've learned to love and accept his little temper. I think it's cute and funny now lol. It taught me that as much as I think he's "mine" he's his own...
I've been trying to look into different options to expand my chameleon's diet as he seems to be getting hooked on super worms. I've seen some people feed their chams mantis. Is this recommended? I saw this being sold on one of our sponsors' website and it seemed like a good deal. $10 for like...
Yeah mine easily gets startled too lol. If I'm not mistaken your little one is young like mine right? Maybe they're going through their teen phase or we're just in that weird phase where they don't know if they should trust us yet lol. I think in my case I just got a grumpy one lol. I even...
If he's puffing up I wouldn't even try to handle him. Not for the fear of being bitten but more so as a way of respecting his space. Regardless,t there's been times when cleaning or something that I've had to handle him when he doesn't want to be handled. Usually I just slowly wiggle one finger...
