How big of a problem is it? How much should I worry about it? He really just started doing it after he got out free ranging. Now when I come by he climbs all over the door.
I noticed he is missing a toe nail. I don't know how long ago, he may have been always missing it for all in know. I...
@Nursemaia
I too live in the forest, but also in Virginia. I have a very robust hawk population around me. What material do you use for your cages? I was thinking about using hardware cloth.
:-( sounds awful. If that's the case, im hoping that's not a consistent problem, for my sake.
Just posting my more recent experience with chameleon paradise and parasite testing from my vets perspective. I hate this happened to anyone.
First, if you fill this out, the experts around here can give you the best help. In some of this pictures your guys eyes look kind of sunken, which may mean he is very dehydrated. Photos can be deceiving, and that is at best a guess by a rank amateur. Somebody smarter will be along shortly. I...
My guy came from Chameleon Paradise. He recently chewed some bark off a log and threw it back up, so I took him in for a work up, and ran a stool sample for parasites to rule that out.
My vet said Bruce must be doing a great job, because there were no real "parasites". What we did have was an...
Okay, back to stick insects, since they can't fly, would they be a good feeder to free range on a large tree?? I've created a monster here by letting this guy out to free range. Now he tries to make a break for it whenever I open his cage for maintenance.i have a 12-14' ficus tree he now thinks...
Sometimes my crickets smell, and sometimes they don't. I expect any animal
If kept well won't stink, just like pigs and chickens. I switched the place I was buying crickets from, because the first suppliers were mostly dead when I got them. These smell much better so I suspect that may be my...
I think you guys have got something going on there with the agar gel and leaves. I bet it wouldn't be that hard to do I'm thinking more like making fruit roll ups but with leaf dust. Then you could just peel it up in sheets and clip it to a branch. When I get stick insects I am going to try it...
I never put it together until just now, but waxworms are not that tough to raise. I keep honeybees and I try like hell to keep those things from getting in my hives in the winter. If you leave a box out they will be FULL of waxworms.
These are nice, but then... I am a bit bias since I designed them myself with the help of the Jungle Dawn® crew. ;)
Yeah, you will be hearing from me before too long...
I've hear a lot of great things about those Jungle Dawn lights. I was actually checking those out this morning because Im planning a large enclosure and looking at light options.
