I have used nothing but Repashy supplements for over a year now, including Calcium Plus for dusting. I use it daily for our two-year old veiled and have had no problems or issues. He seems perfectly healthy and has seen a vet twice saying that he is healthy as can be.
We are all so glad that things are looking up for you and your chamy. We love to be able to help each other along the way. How about some pics when you get his new home? :p
I am by no means an expert. However, what I have experienced and what I have read here in the past would lead me to believe that a vet visit would be your best line of defense, now! Make sure that the vet is rep/herp savy and can make a quick judgement. Your cham needs to be tested for...
I use a reptisun 5.0 on one side of the cage and a 60W soft white in a reflector on the other rear side and leave front corner w/no light. At night all lights go off by 9 pm.
You have received the best advice already. 12 on /12 off for lights. Make sure there is a darker, cooler place he can escape to during the day. No lights, misting, noise at night. Take care and good luck with your baby!
Mine has also always been in our living room. We rehomed him about a year ago from a person in another state (and climate). He used to gap at me sometimes and he is always in survival mode but he has gotten to tolerate me coming near him. He does not like to be fooled with but will come out once...
I have a plywood bottom with a drain pan sitting on top of it. To seal it I used a Spar Urethane product. It dries to clear, hard finish overnight and completely cures in about 3 days max. Applying several coats over a couple of days really built it up and it has withstood water, crud, and such...
Aww, I am so sorry that you've had to let Isis go on ahead. You both fought a hard battle and tried your hardest. Now she is at rest and never again needs earthly meds. Be at peace, both of you.
I guess it would depend on the minerals, etc. in your local water. I understand that usually RO is recommended. I have always used PUR stage 3 filtered water from the tap with reptisafe and have had no issues with the system or the cham. ;)
First Shipment of Phoenix Worms Arrived
OK, so everyone gave me a lot of good feedback. I went ahead and ordered from Mulberry Farms on Monday. They arrived today and look great. I've just put 4 in his feeder cup and will wait to see if he gets them tomorrow. He has a cricket cup but they...
I started a similar thread a few days back and got similar responses. I just got my first shipment today from Mulberry Farms (site sponsor). They figure out to about .075 cents each which is cheaper than crickets or mealworms. I'll try them for a while and see how my adult veiled does. So far he...
I've been calling them Phoenix Worms, then I heard they also go by Calci Worms, Reptiworms, and so on. I'm going to try some because my chamy is so darn picky. I will post a thread when I get results, good or bad!
@ Jon114, looks like a lot of work. Site Sponsor Mulberry Farms offers 400 mediums delivered for $30. For those of us on busy schedules that's not bad. I pay almost $4/35 for giant mealworms locally and no fuss or muss. Thanks. :p
@ Jon114, yes it's a lot of words and a lot of work. Site Sponsor Mulberry Farms offers 400 mediums delivered for $30. For those of us on busy schedules that's not bad. I pay almost $4/35 for giant mealworms locally and no fuss or muss. Thanks.
Phoenix Feeders - No Other Opinions?
So there seems to be very, very little opinion on Phoenix Worms? I've had a few people chime in and tell me they are ok. Are there any 'long-term' users that have found, or not found, these to be adequate feeders?
