I don’t know too much about the growth being affected but I’ve heard that getting good UV had helped instigate a shed, but they will shed less often as they grow anyway. The Zilla brand uv was one of the bulbs I had when I first joined the forums and was advised to get a Reptisun or Arcadia...
It may not be related but I had asked about colors they hate in an older thread and some members had noticed strange/stressed behaviors when they were wearing certain colors (red/reddish/black).
The supplement adjustment might help your chameleon with that, when I first started using Repashy calcium plus I followed the directions on the jar (which says every feeding) and my chameleon had abnormal behaviors. If we could see a pic of your whole enclosure we might could see if there are...
I replied to them and mentioned the minimum cage size and the UV being the reason he closes his eyes during the day and that it’s a sign of a decline in health. I also mentioned the forums so hopefully they, or the new owners, will make the appropriate corrections. 🤞🤞
Your idea reminds me of an enclosure I’ve seen but it’ll be even better with the bioactive substrate on wheels ☺️
I found the build video for that setup...
Found a couple threads with the pics for you. His website has awesome info on bioactive setups if you’re interested (caskabove.com) ☺️

Love these trees 😍 @CasqueAbove has a couple beautiful open enclosure setups for his chameleons and one is setup in what I would call “the bathroom of my dreams” 😁
It’s even smaller than we thought. It’s a 16x30 😞 That poor chameleon is with insufficient UV and too small cage and I don’t know if should say something or if it will even matter since they’re trying to get rid of him.
I asked for a cage pic with a ruler or tape measure. Hopefully they respond but really I think your right and it’s 18x36 from the size of the lamp relative to the size of the cage. ☹️
Saw a Craigslist ad for a chameleon with cage and they say it’s a 4ft cage but it doesn’t look like it to me, but maybe it’s just my bad eyes. Tell me what you all think? Is it a 4ft or am I being duped?
It will help to list the type and brand of your vitamins and how often these are dusted. Chameleons can act strange or become ill when they are getting too much of a particular vitamin, especially fat soluble vitamins. Mealworms are harder to digest so the dubias would make the better staple...
At her age she would be needing a lay bin setup soon, even if she doesn’t seem gravid yet she is at the reproductive age. I cannot say if she may be doing that from being uncomfortable due to temps/UV/too small or low cage/incorrect supplementation/lack of privacy/etc. From one of the pics it...
