    Bioactive Enclosure Project 24x24x48

Stay away from that Bio-Dude scam, he stamps his name on Chinese prison made junk, over charges for it and then doesn't stand behind it. https://www.homedepot.com/order/view/summary

    Bioactive Enclosure Project 24x24x48

In my experience If one does end up with a swamp, one is misting way too much water. I have about 6-8" of soil that sits atop a thin level of charcoal that sits on a thin layer of pumice rocks at the bottom of the bag. With all the plants growing in the soil, it doesn't leak onto the plastic...

    Bioactive Enclosure Project 24x24x48

That makes sense but my comment was strictly about a cham bio enclosure. In review, I don't think the OP scpecified if his bio plans are for a chams or frogs?

    Bioactive Enclosure Project 24x24x48

Surplus water being drained away into a bucket doesn't sound bioactive to me. Neither do enclosures that have no soil base at the bottom but only potted plants.

    Did it AGAIN-- treefrogs ugggggg

More like "what the hell is happening to me?!" :D Thanks for keeping us updated with photos almost in real time. I forgot how quickly amphibians transform from water to land, it never ceases to facinate me!

Post your beautiful/ideal Jackson’s enclosure please

You could probably find the perfect stand/platform for your enclosure by going to your local Goodwill and paying as little as possible.

As usual, great advice Beman. I will message Jonathan, don't know why I didn't think of that on my own?! 🤔

    My New YBBB Ambilobe

My little guys still doesn't like me so when I take him out he's quick like a cat, very hard to photograph as the phone is for some reason very scary to him (My Border Collie is the same as he won't stay still for photos either!) Anyway, the first picture reveals the bump clearly. It's not just...

    My New YBBB Ambilobe

Nothing wrong with your eye turrets, Beman! Good call and yes, as long as I can remember, he's had small buldges at the forward end of the eye turrets. On both eyes. I haven't ever seen him fuss with his eyes, rubbing them on plants or with his hands so it hasn't concerned me. Until now. I'll...

    My New YBBB Ambilobe

Update; now that he's 6 months, the colors are coming in. He's a YBBB but only now am I starting to see some yellow, usually around his underbelly. Anyway, always curious to know if anyone spots anything unusual about his health, fire away!

    Light confusion

In the upper right I think I see T5 but can't be sure, it's small and blurry

    Light confusion

Depends on what size your linear lamp is. T5 is smaller that T8 so either it fits or it doesn't. Both will work but there is newer technology in T5 and that is what is recommended.

    Panthers and vegitation

It was early in the morning when I saw him with the leaf hanging out of his mouth and that's all I saw. But if I had to guess what happened, he launched his tongue on a ficus leaf where a BSF was perched. He loves eating those little flies! When I pulled what was left of the leaf out of his...

    Panthers and vegitation

That could have been what was going on but when I tried to pull the leaf out of his mouth he was not letting go, lol

    Panthers and vegitation

I know Vields have an appetite for greens but this morning I found my 5 month Panther boy grazing on a ficus leaf! He has plenty of dubias but I haven't gotten him any crickets in a week so maybe he's choosing greens over roaches? I've had him since last June and never witnessed this until now...

    Did it AGAIN-- treefrogs ugggggg

Thanks for doing this here! My fondest memories as a child was collecting tadpoles and watching them grow into froglets. Just something about watching their legs grow first and then when you see the little arms sprout you know it won't be long before they transform from water to land. I grew up...
