Thank you for documenting this here. So much of what we do to treat our chams when they become ill is trial and error so any path to success can be useful data.
Must it be a reptile? If not, tree frogs? I know nothing about keeping them but if you can, multiple White's or Red Eyed should be easily seen for viewing from outside the screens.
I've been watching a few Panther Facebook sites and like clockwork, if someone's 3-4 month old male hasn't blossomed into to a candy coded shade of blurple, the cusotmers assume they got a female or there's something wrong with their cham. When in fact, they just need to be patient and let the...
My male Ambilode looked a lot like your little guy/gal when I got him at 4 months. He's now about 6 months and just starting to color up. Be patient, he'll get there. Here's mine from about a month ago.
I happen to have had this thread on my screen when my wife walked over to talk to me and sees Girls Only: Single and looking for love. Naturally, she asks me "what the hell?" and I told her to relax, it's only a male vield chameleon who is looking for love and not me :D
Indeed, if drainage is the issue that's a bigger problem to solve than just not watering as much and replacing a plant. BTW, I spot scheffleras when ever I make to the effort to look on my dog walks and that's right here in rainy/soggy 'ol Seattle ;)
A better question is why are you over watering your enclosure? It's a hearty, safe plant to maintain in a cham enclosure. I probably couldn't kill mine if I tried!
Looks alot like my baby male xanth when he was shipped to me at 4 months. So yes, I'd say 4 to 5 months. Cute little guy, I can already see he will do well in your care!
I have a 5 month Panther that flips his position as he sees me move my hand to my pocket before I can even get my phone out! 😖
Seriously, this is the usual of what I get 😞
Just curious, have you ever seen your cham eat whatever that is in that can? I know mine won't eat anything that doesn't walk, he just ignores BSFL but loves to snag BSFs buzzing around him.
When you do you'll never deal with another smelly, dirty drain pan again. I have a Reptibreeze X-large substrate tray that sits underneath the root pouch and by trial and error I discovered that if I over mist, the excessive water that trickles through the soil can collect there and get a musty...
I have a 2x4x4 enclosure that I utilize a root pouch to be bioactive and its been as trouble free as possible (no smell and no cleaning, draining or replacing drain pans!) But every once in a while I'll take a looking glass at the top soil and have noticed a much more dense population of...
