I know that you think I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’ve been doing this for years and my chameleon is doing better than most. The reason they make different sizetanks is to fit YOUR needs. Getting a huge one for no reason defeats the purpose.
I already had this discussion about the tank with others on the forum. They gave me crap about the tank size, and I respect why, but so far, she has plenty of room. And what’s improper about my lighting and supplementing?
Tank setup looks ok but a standing water bowl is not gonna be used by your cham. You will need to get an auto mister or mist very often manually for best hydration results. You will also want more foliage towards the front of the cage (with a live plant) to hold more humidity. Good luck with...
The only thing holding me up is that the reptile vets in Pittsburgh are like just vets that treat all animals, none are chameleon or even reptile specialists. Last time I went he did a great job with her abscess but this is a bit more complex.....
I never said that I wasn’t gonna take her to the vet. I am definitely going to the vet this week or early next week depending on when I can get in. I just think, don’t just go and blow a bunch of money at the vet for them to tell me what I already know. You know what I mean?
I think it’s pseudo gout, I don’t know how she got it, but it shows most symptoms. Early signs of kidney failure are supposed to have 2 or more symptoms of secondary gout to confirm the diagnosis. She only has one. I wish I could get sunlight here in Pittsburgh! It’s like 30 degrees and rainy lol.
