I wouldn’t worry I experience this during the warmer months.
My year old male is doing the same thing, frantically clawing to get out! He almost flies out when I open the door.
I believe he is determined to find a mate!?
Mine does the same thing! Claws constantly at the door. I think it’s a seasonal thing and he’s trying to find a mate. My bearded dragon does the same thing as well. Seems very normal so I wouldn’t worry.
Can be super annoying though and I have a fake tree I put him on but climbes off that too haha
I have tried chasing temperatures and it leads to stress and problems for both parties. Under the bulb should be around 90 using a regular bulb.
Don’t worry too much about ambient or cage temps. I’m in Colorado with 70 average for cage air temperature. He will go under the basking bulb and...

Don’t worry too much about ambient or cage temps. He will go under the basking bulb and regulate his own temperature.
That bulb is way too hot!! There is your problem I believe. I use that same bulb for my bearded dragon and gets a basking temp of 110-120.
Use a household 60 watt or this 72w reveal bulb.
Please give this a try, feel bad for your guy!
Having used both screen and glass enclosures I prefer glass. Advantages include better temperature and humidity control as well as more visually appealing. This is actually in my kitchen and a big screen cages wouldn’t look good. It’s a must for Colorado and the super dry climate.

My hybiscus has been doing well for a couple years and flowers annually. I use liquid fertilizer one a month and water it well. Also use 3 cfl plant lights.
There are vents surrounding the base, as the hot air rises it is replaced by fresh air. Yes I use microfauna and bio media layered. Never had bacteria or mold issues, actually had more problems with the screen cages and over watering to compensate for dry air.
Not at all with the cup feeding and organic soil. I would be hesitant to free range, and have a screened deli cup to let the feeders climb around and attract him. He hand feeds as well so that helps.
Screen cages seem to be the standard, but there are other options that work. I used to be the opponent to substrate and glass sides but times have changed.
I wanted to post my setup, after going years using screen cages. This setup requires no drainage and is a self contained ecosystem. Equiped...
