    Best plant for automated mister

So, I plan on finally installing a Mistking in Lewis' big boy enclosure (he's still in smaller one at the moment). In the past, I've had a Schefflera arboricola plant that did quite well. But that was with hand misting. I've heard they don't do well with really wet soil, which will be the case...

    Solarmeter Readings-Help Please

Thanks for all the info everybody!! But, my head is spinning now. :) I still haven't seen what the optimal reading is for the 6.5, unless I missed it.

    Solarmeter Readings-Help Please

Hi all. I just purchased the 6.5 Solarmeter. I have never used one of these before. I'm curious, what is the ideal UV reading at the highest basking point? I have a panther cham BTW. Thanks!

5% , 6% 10% 12% .... It's how much UV that actually gets in the cage that matters.

So the Arcadia quad fixture comes with two 6.k daylight bulbs (along with the UV bulb and plant bulb). Are these strictly for lighting up the enclosure? Also, when using a Solarmeter, what do you want the UV reading to be at at the cages highest basking point?

    Background

My cage is 24x24x48. So I went to Ace Hardware and had them cut me out a piece of plexiglass to fit it (make it a taaaaad smaller). I then placed the plexiglass along the back of the cage, and sealed ithe edges with hot glue to keep it in place, and so crickets can't get behind it. Then I...

    Background

I got one of those fence things that fold up. Behind it is a sheet of plexiglass so water from misting doesn't get the wall in my room wet.

    Horizontals

Nothing beats branches from outside. They look the most natural, and they're....free!

    Banded crickets turning orange

OK, good. So they didn't turn nuclear toxic on me then. ;)

    Banded crickets turning orange

OK, I know this may sound strange. But after feeding my banded crickets carrots last night, I woke up this morning to find that all of the crickets have an orange color to them. Now, I normally gutload with Bug Burger, Cricket Crack, collard greens, carrots, kale. This is the first time I've...

    H2-Ohhh

Is distilled universally ok for them to drink? I've read that people don't use it with their geckos because purely distilled water is bad for them...

    H2-Ohhh

I'm curious what kind of water is best for our chams. I usually use spring water, but have read lately that distilled is better. If this is the case, it'd be great since I plan on getting a misting systrem, and distilled is much better in that regards. Thanks.

    Between 2 cages

I wish Dragonstrand and Rept-breeze would make a little larger screen cage. Like, 24x24x54 or something. Or 36x36x48.

    Crickets in bulk

So, the crickets you get at Petco/Petsmart aren't banded crickets, correct? Banded are healthier, hardier and less smelly? AND makes less noise? Are there any pros to go with house crix over banded? I read banded jump high. Now, house crickets don't usually jump unless provoked. So, if you...

    Meet Trig!

Looks good to me. Tho, there is a lot of open space still up high. Personally, I'd add more branches (or wooden dowels, which are cheap but don't look as "natural"), horizontally and vertically. Then you can get some fake vines with leaves and wrap them around the branches/dowels to provide...

    Repashy Calcium Plus???

Is this the one to use? I see there are like 3 different kinds.

    Repashy Calcium Plus???

Mostly indoor. Right now it's a juvenile. I use 5.0 Reptisun. But when it moves to it' large cage, I'll be using Arcadia.

    Repashy Calcium Plus???

Hi guys/gals. I was talking to some people at a recent reptile show, and they say they use this stuff exclusively on their Panthers. Now, I've always heard/read- -Zoo Med repti-calcium w/o D3 most feedings. -Rep-Cal calcium w/D3 every 2 weeks -Rep-Cal Herptivite multivitamins every 2 weeks...

    Infrared Temp Guns

    Are you joking?

    Infrared Temp Guns

OK, I think I'm being confusing, and I apologize. ;) I'm talking about the actual heat the cham gives off. For instance, if it's 70 degrees in my room right now, and I point a temp gun at my arm, it will read much higher...like in the 90's. Because it's reading my body heat. So, does pointing...
