But what I'm saying is, the temp off the surface of the branch and the top of the cham would be different, since the top of the cham is closer to the bulb.
So, reading more on the temp guns.
If I wanna get the temp of my chams basking spot, it doesn't pay to test the actual branch, since the cham is taller than that, and closer to the bulb.
So, do I point the laser at the cham itself?? Is that an accurate reading?
Looking into getting a temp gun. Anybody have any suggestions? Til now I've only used digital thermometers.
This is one I'm looking at. Kind of pricey tho compared to others...
OK, thanks. Like I said, that middle pic isn't my actual plant. Mine is much more bare.
Is the last plant in my post as hardy as the SA?
I really like the looks of the Dracaena, but like you said, not many branches for climbing. Not a huge deal since I have tons of vertical and horizontal...
Hi guys/gals.
So, the schefflera arboricola I have in my enclosure has gotta kind of bare. So I've been looking for other plants and have come across a Dracaena plant at Home Depot. Anybody have any experience with these? Will this thing outgrow my enclosure quickly?
This is what it looks...
Hi guys/gals. So, my two year old boy, Milo, will not eat crickets. As a matter of fact, the only thing he'll eat is super worms. It's been this way for months now, and I'm pretty sure a staple diet of super worms isn't ideal.
I'll put crickets in his feeding dish...he won't even bat an eye...
I have a male veiled that I've had now for 2 years (got him as a baby).
The majority of the time, he's darker colored instead of the bright, vibrant color that he gets when he's sleeping.
Now, I always heard that when they're darker, they can be stressed, grumpy, sick, etc. I had him to...
Schefflera arboricola's are nice big plants.
You can easily keep alive indoors but you really need a plant bulb (same with most plants you wanna keep in indoor enclosure).
Lightyourreptiles has a nice combo fixture that has the uvb bulb as well as plant bulb.
Here's what I did for my screen cage.
Get a bunch of branches.
For the horizontal branches (going straight across as well as diagonal) I cut each end to the correct length. I got strong magnets from Home Depot, and super glued a magnet on each end of the branch. Then obviously you put the...
BTW, I was gonna take a pic and post it here. I decided not to because honestly, a picture doesn't even come close to doing it justice (even in that link you provided).
