Make sure you use plastic and not glass for the pipette. I saw a post elsewhere where a cham bit and broke a glass one! Not a bad idea at all to get them used to it just in case they need meds
Actually, the dam’s sire is the father of that female. Think of dam as mom and sire as dad. So if you are seeing pics of a chameleon’s lineage the sire would be the father and the dam’s sire would be the maternal grandfather.
You’ve gotten some great advice, especially re: the lighting, foliage, and lay bin. I just HAD to chime in about how beautiful her markings are! I bet they will look even better when you upgrade the lights and her colors pop more :). Lovely girl.
You’re going to want a 24” fixture for your cage, 12” fixtures honestly aren’t even recommended for the smaller cages because they don’t penetrate as deeply. Get a 10% or 12% bulb for it. You’re cham will be much better off :)
Welcome! I’d stay clear of any breeder who tells you that....either they’re straight up lying or their husbandry is bad so their females aren’t surviving the laying process. I keep veileds, but @Matt Vanilla Gorilla always has lovely babies and I’ve seen nothing but glowing reviews from those...
alwsys happy to help :)
I can definitely attest to the value of a good misting system. I bit the bullet and bought a mist king and it was worth every penny.
Those will work, but I’d recommend the following:

Cheaper, the bulb will last 12 months rather than 6. I have also heard reports of people getting used bulbs...
IMO is in my opinion
The 10% or 12% refers to the strength. I prefer the Acadia 12%, they are cheaper and last longer. The t5ho is the bulb size. High output, and the bulb is 5/8th if an inch around (as opposed to the t8s which are 1 inch). You will also need a measurement for the length. I’d...
Definitely take a look at the graphics @Beman posted. I wish they wouldn’t sell those kits.
You’re going to want to upgrade his lighting, t5ho 10% or 12% ASAP. Light is the most natural and safe form of uvb for them. In addition you will want to add a multivitamin 2x a month. Use one with...
Have you had a full husbandry review?
It seems to me that keeping your feeders hydrated helps.
How do you know she did not drink? Many will not drink in front of us. Just some food for thought.
@Calypratus i def wouldn’t feed the wild caught ones, due to my location I am uncomfortable feeding wild caught anything. Considering keeping and breeding the little jerks I find.
@Brodybreaux25 no worries, not fussed! I value your input! Didn’t realize OP is in LA, they should def be able to grab something. Do you think natural sun could be an option there? Google tells me it may hit high 60’s today (hard to imagine, sitting here’s in single digits!)
@Brodybreaux25 totally agree, if possible. Personally, I have no local source for things like t5ho. When I took in my rescue I paid an arm and a leg to ship overnight. If OP can find locally that is certainly preferable. I should remember different locations may have better options, and should...
