The main reason I feel like he's not just basking is because this branch is in the middle of his enclosure. It's more than a foot away from the lamp. Do they do that sometimes? It doesn't smell really bad. I mean, it has an odor when I hold it up to my face to inspect it (which I do occasionally to make sure all looks normal...) but I can't smell it if it's more than a few inches from my nose.

It's called Great Stuff, it's expanding foam. I only used 2.5 cans of it, but I've seen some people on here use much more than that to create really awesome faux rock walls! It's lightweight, but solid and it sticks well to the plywood.
