The main reason I feel like he's not just basking is because this branch is in the middle of his enclosure. It's more than a foot away from the lamp. Do they do that sometimes? Bask far away from the lamp? His designated basking spot is only 6-7 inches from the lamp and is much warmer. I haven't...
It doesn't smell really bad. I mean, it has an odor when I hold it up to my face to inspect it (which I do occasionally to make sure all looks normal...) but I can't smell it if it's more than a few inches from my nose.
Uh-oh. I was told by his age (9-10 months) he needed to be weaned and would start eating every other day. Should I go back to feeding him daily? 24 large crickets daily???
Several times this past week I've caught Leo "laying" on a branch/dowel rod in the middle of his enclosure. He's supporting himself with his legs and tail, but his belly rests on the dowel rod. Is this normal? Is he just lounging or is something wrong? I've attached a few photos. I can't quite...
The faux rock wall has been installed! The floor has also been installed! Next up: adding some foam to the floor to seal a small crack. Then we’ll install the new MistKing! Screens go in this weekend. We’re halfway there!!!

I agree. I had never owned a reptile before I bought Leo (my cham) this past October. I did a ton of research first, but I still learned a lot along the way. My biggest advice is also about money. Be prepared to spend $$$. I wasn’t prepared at first and it sucked. Leo might as well have been...
My boy is from the Newton bloodline from FL Chams. I originally wanted one from the Naval bloodline but none were available at the time. Here’s a recent photo of my boy all fired up (top) and his sire (bottom). My Cham is currently 9-10 months.
Update:
Faux rock wall is complete and almost ready to be installed! Last thing to do is drill holes for the Pothos to drain. The Pothos have been bought and are ready to be planted in the rock wall once the holes for drainage are drilled.
Bought a corn plant and painted a giant terra cotta pot...
Posting this here because who else is going to understand?
I had a weird dream last night where Leo's right arm fell off. When I say "fell off," think of the way a succulent falls apart. When a succulent isn't in perfect health, the leaves (if that's what they're called) can easily be popped...
So Leo is about 9-10 months old and I've very recently weaned him off of being fed daily. Now he eats 10 crickets every other day. However...he still goes to his food bowl every morning once I've sprayed his cage to check for food, even on the days he's not being fed. He's currently at his food...
It's called Great Stuff, it's expanding foam. I only used 2.5 cans of it, but I've seen some people on here use much more than that to create really awesome faux rock walls! It's lightweight, but solid and it sticks well to the plywood.
First layers of paint are on the faux rock wall! My latest question: are fake plants from Michael’s okay? I will be buying live plants but I wanted to add some fake ones too and Michael’s has a larger variety than pet stores...
I can’t choose just one!
When I first got Leonardo. He was about 2-3 months old.
His favorite place to be was the zip tie. Now he’s too big.
In January, when he was about 5-6 months old.
Attacking my iPhone’s camera!
Morning yoga!
Such a cutie!
I experienced this a little when I first got Leo. He never seemed to eat but his food bowl would always be empty. Sometimes I found the BSFL I was feeding him in the drainage bucket, but other times I couldn’t find any BSFL or crickets anywhere in his enclosure. Eventually I saw him eat, and now...
Began the faux rock wall this afternoon! There’s three tiny pots for air plants and two medium pots for some pothos that I’m hoping will grow down the wall eventually. Here’s a view from the top and the bottom. These aren’t the only branches. The remaining branches just have to be added after we...
Another slight concern (didn't want to make an entirely new thread)...he hasn't been in his basking spot lately. Usually he spends most of his day there but I've noticed he's hanging out on a branch more toward the middle of his cage. His temperatures haven't changed so I don't know if I should...
