    Iggy's Got New Digs!

I was able to get a killer deal on Iggys new enclosure this weekend. It's a 24x24x48 Reptibreeze LED Deluxe with the clear Plexi front. I didn't care at all about the LEDs since they don't do anything and I have a 4 bulbs fixture but I really wanted the clear front. This cage is SO much bigger...

Plant cleaning and bio active substrate layer

I took my Star Jasmine and Hibiscus out of the pots and kind of pressure washed them with my water hose. I have one that you can determine the level of water pressure you need. It hosed off a great amount of the dirt from the root ball. I then put them in the cage and put the soil around them. I...

And you can potentially get clear plastic shower curtains for the win! Is that soft plastic? And is that bad for them?

Soft plastic screening would be bad? Please Say It Isn't So I was extremely excited and already searching.

    Where to get inexpensive plexi?

I was able to pick up an XL Chameleon cage today and was wondering where I might pick up some inexpensive plexi sheets to cover the right and back panels of the cage? I am trying to keep the humidity up and because Texas is so bloody hot we like to keep the ac really low which keeps it kind of...

    Panther Chameleon looking ok?

We keep our house pretty cool actually and his temps at the middle of the cage probably 12 in from the light is 76 degrees. I will remove the other 6% bulb and just a little bit. Thanks.

Here's the link to the light fixture. https://www.saltwaterfish.com/product-aquatic-life-t5-ho-light-fixture-4-x-54-w-48 My fixture is exactly the same except it's the 24 inch fixture instead of the 48 inch. After reading the description in the link it is individual reflectors.

    Panther Chameleon looking ok?

It's one reflector for all four however the reflector is ^^^^ instead of \____/. So each ^^^ is connected at the down. Sorry I couldn't figure out a way to actually explain what I was trying to say lol. The light sits 2 inches above the actual cage itself and about 8 inches total from his...

    Panther Chameleon looking ok?

Thanks! Its reassuring to have people tell me that he looks good. I worry when changes happen. This lighting system if I recall correctly only works if you use all bulb spaces. So I use both. As long as it doesn't hurt him and it could help him I'll leave it.

    Panther Chameleon looking ok?

Everybody is out of extra large cages everywhere! I've been trying to order one for two weeks. Nobody has them in stock. I'm going to a HERPS convention in September and will hopefully get one there. It was getting to the point that I started looking into custom cages.

    Panther Chameleon looking ok?

No worries. It's a valid question. The color difference is really amazing from what it was even three days ago. Now he actually utilizes the entire cage all day long instead of just staying at the very top all day just soaking up as much light as he could get. While him staying at the top is...

    Panther Chameleon looking ok?

Okay so I have recently changed Iggy's lighting from a standard dome lighting to my Aquatic Life 4 bulb T5 setup. Since I have change the bulbs, areas such as his eyes and tale and some (lines, skeletal structure) on his head seem darker in coloration then they were previously with the other...

    Unsure of Panther Chameleons health

So it's been a little more than 2 weeks. I have been taking things slowly with Iggy. I really couldn't get him to eat anything nutritious for the first week. I looked around a great deal for silkworms but they weren't available. Even for shipping. And crickets were not something he was at all...

    Unsure of Panther Chameleons health

One question, or many... Changes being brought first will be food and vitamins. I have set up a drip system (one drop every 3 to 5 seconds) into the plant and it lands on the leaves to drop down. I will continue to do the misting by hand until I find a system that I can live with. How quickly...

Thank you so much! I have kept Chameleons before but not this kind and not for 15+ years! I will be reading all this info. Thanks again.

    Unsure of Panther Chameleons health

So that's where he's at exactly right now. He's sleeping behind the plant. And I'm not exactly sure what to do about it. I can cover him like the whole cage. And I can get more foliage tomorrow because I'm assuming there's just not enough and he doesn't feel comfortable on the limbs all night...
