Also, I saw him drinking from the leaves. My niece actually pointed it out to me. When he drinks or when I mist him, he goes back to his normal lighter green.
Also, sometimes when he's basking, he turns a really dark green. I don't want him to be too stressed out.
I got him to eat today. I brought the food dish up to him and he ate out of it. He also pooped and it's nice and firm and the urinate was white like it should be.
It's placed directly on the screen. I was thinking of building a little stand for it so it's not right on the screen. You can keep your hands there for 90 seconds without it being too hot, but I'm still worried
Yesterday, I bought a 3 month old or so veiled chameleon from a local reputable reptile shop. Yesterday he just chilled in a plant, but now today he's out and about. It has been twice now that I have caught him climbing up the side of his cage to be directly under the light, or he is able to...
I have my cage all set up, but no cham in it. The resting humidity is sits between 55°f and 60°f. I mist about three times a day, and when I mist the humidity can get up to 70° and I need it to be higher than that. Does anyone have any tips or ticks on how to keep my humidity up?
I have a...
This is super cool. I love biology and genetic mutations, but I can't help but feel a ping in my heart for the poor little fella. Sadly, it's probably a good thing that he didn't live that long. Maybe he rest in peace
Thanks so much. This was a lot of help! The bottom is actually an eco carpet that came with the cage kit, not paper towel. I may just get rid of it and do like what you said you did.
Okay, so I have my cage pretty much set up. I'm still working on the decor, but I'd like to know what you guys think of it, and if you have any recommendations to make it better. I hope you can see the pictures I attached. I have some sandblasted grape vine and more vines and foliage.I'm also...
I get why everyone hates PetCo and PetSmart so much, but I also don't get it. Not every store is the same. It depends on the managers and the staff. Some actually try and educate themselves and provide what is needed for the animals in their care. Most stores aren't like that and I get that. But...
Plenty of my friends and other people that I know have bought chams from our local Petco and they have survived. Only one of them has died due to the poor care that the person provided. I also talked to the family friend today and he's not selling his chams anymore for some reason that they...
I 100% agree with this. I honestly wish that they weren't so cheap so people wouldn't impulse buy them. I've done so much research over these last few months that it's crazy. I've been searching for other cham carries in my area have have found a better and more reliable place to buy one.
I plan on drilling them with questions, and if they don't meet my requirements, I'm for sure not going to buy one from them. I have a family friend who breeds chams, so I'll go to him. So Petco will get the third degree from me. I know enough of basic husbandry to call them out on their BS...
I've been to reptile expos along with other expos, and to me, a lot of the animals there seem really stressed by all of the commotion that's going on. Even a single day of being really stressed out can do a lot of harm to any animal, so that's why I'm kind of scared to go and buy something from...
