I don’t know if they are safe, but I baked mine in the oven until the house smelt like there is a campfire ... Personally I do stay away from pines, and I’m always worried about that green stuff, just don’t know if it’s fungus.

I order mine over amazon from josh’s. They cost more buying via amazon, but shipping is free, so it ends up being cheaper. Never had an issue either, they ship fast and get to me alive. And the banded crickets aren’t really that bad. Also much cleaner than those regular nasty crickets

So he told me the other day that he does charge for the cage etc... he wants $100 for everything, and I’m pretty sure he won’t ship for free. (If he even does) I wasn’t aware of that, so you decide what you want to do. Good luck
