Addicted,
The pic was taken under an aquarium grow light in the front, and Repti-Glo 5.0 and regular bulb in the middle and back of the cage.
He always had AMAZING reds, teals and blues.
Thanks again for the comments,
Kevin
I use wet play sand for my egg laying substrate. I put about 6 inches in a kitty litter bucket, cut a 3" hole in the lid and place her climbing vine into the bucket through the hole. My girls have laid 5 clutches this way and all have been layed within 24 hours of introducing the bucket.
She...
Well, on Feb 27 IceFyre became daddy to 21 eggs. As the weeks went on all 21 eggs proved viable and now 6 1/2 monthes later I have 21 babies!!!!
Here's IceFyre for those who haven't seen him.
Here's Ouroboros, the dam, after laying her second clutch from IceFyre.
Here's...
Well so much for a couple of monthes!
One is hatched (today), one is coming out of his shell as we speak, and another shell has collapsed so he should be out tomorrow. :D
Wow....I hope I have everything figured out.
Thanks,
Kevin
They are at six monthes now. It's fascinating how much they've swelled already.
Nicodemayo, I only hope they have his reds and blues!
Thanks for the input guys!
Kevin
Here are the eggs when they were just layed.
Here they are now at 6 monthes.
How do they look?
They have grown quite a bit. They are getting translucent now.
Do you think I'm getting close? What else should I be looking for?
Thanks,
Kevin
Well my one of my girls that was paired up with Rhocasygoth just got finished burying 34 eggs. They seem as if there may be a few that aren't viable but they're all going into the box to see what happens.
Here they are getting together:
Here's a pic of him later:

Thanks again for all your thoughts. I do think that he choked on the cricket. I wasn't familiar with cham anatomy but knowing now that they breath through a small hole at the bottom of their mouth I think this is what happened. That is where the cricket's body was.
Every time I think about...
My vet isn't very good with chams.....It took multiple visits and a lot of arm twisting to get the female that was having problems treated right.
As for the necropsy he was too much of a pet to do that......it gave me the heeby-jeebies just touching him when he was dead. He's already buried...
I do have 78 viable eggs from him and one of my females. She just layed the last 30 last Sunday. I hope that his wonderful genes show through and I come up with another vivid blue and red male.
Thanks again,
Kevin
I posted in another thread that Icefyre has died. Thank God I didn't try the bee pollen yet......if this would have happened right after I tried the pollen I would have blamed myself more than I am now.
Kevin
P.S. please post any thoughts on his passing in the other thread so we don't...
It was a 5/8 to 3/4" cricket feeds on larger dubias and never even flinched.
It was bit in half and fully in his mouth but not down his throat.
Thanks,
Kevin
I came home from my son's baseball tourney to find Icefyre dead. He's been fine with no signs of any trouble at all. He's been fed crickets and dubias for quite a while now. I've been supplementing cal/no D3 M,W,F and rotating cal/w D3, Minerall and Herptivite on Saturdays. He has been hunting...
Thanks Tygerr.
It looks like it's still a matter of experimentation. I guess just try a little and see if there seems to be any allergic reaction. It seems logical that it would be something that they'd get in the wild but can't get without having bees, flies, butterflies, ect. as feeders. I...
