I was playing with the temps over the weekend to try to get it in range faster and while it worked it was obviously TOO much in the long run so I backed it back down as indicated on the Monday-present chart.
Honestly, having this data is just so cool to me that I can even monitor it like this...
Hey everyone. Have a 6 month old panther and I'm asking about the basking. I know that 90deg F (88-92) is what I'm aiming for and here is the dilemma.
I'm measuring my temp with a govee small thermometer/hygrometer held to the basking spot with a vine.
Using a 100watt bulb on a dimmer to...
Rule of thumb I use is this... if you can smell it while its drying then it's not safe while its wet. Once its dry and all the VOCs have burned off its PROBABLY safe.
A lot of people use drylok. Well, drykock is acrylic based, therefore I figured MOST acrylic based paints (that clean up...
I'm assuming you have an all screen cage?
Where are you located and how are you measuring the humidity?
You could do a few things varying in price. From cheapest to most expensive:
1. Wrap sides with plastic (drop cloth or shower curtains and some tape)

I've looked at all my regular places and I cant seem to find any in stock.
With everything going on i want to have 1 or 2 extras on hand.
Can anyone link me to 1 in stock?
I have one as well, I have it centered. I initially bought 2 but that was WAY too bright.

Just wish I could speed up the grow in for the plants to fill it in some more but I guess I'll have to wait.
Luckily the enclosure is in...
Just got the cage in the room and was setting up the decor.

Getting a 4x4x2 cage and stand down a hallway and...
For those using PVC pipe to route the fog up to the top of the cage... Do you guys use unions or just not glue everything together so you can clean it?
I really wish this hobby would move on from this ideology. 🙄
I will say that there does not appear to be a screen top but a small vent (it appears) so the ventilation may be less than ideal.
Moot point since you're getting a screen cage but my initial comment still stands.
Honestly, the reality is, if she doesnt want another you're probably not going to get another. Best way would be to get her on board in some way... if she is emotionally invested in the hobby then you stand a fighting chance of getting another.
Parents are pretty smart and can see through...
Ok, last update before I get the final coat of paint on. Next time you see this it will be onto the stand build.
You can see is the picture the drain pan I had built by a HVAC supply. The enclosure fits into it with a 1/2in all around. The drain will come out the back and into a bucket in...
