Wow, nice spread sheet. Very good budgeting!
I'd like to say for those vines, I would recommend something thicker. I thought the vines I got were thick enough, but just boom. It was alot thinner compared to my ever growing chameleons.
The UVB light, though it's an amzing light to get that you...
I'd say go for whichever. Veiled chams are better in the sense of thier diet and their easier to get locally, but panthers do have alot of benefits too. I'd say you budget is good, but it depends on what you're getting and where. If you want to save money, don't short out on the quality of the...
Way more money than you think, even if you budget it. It's always oh this dripper broke, the chameleon ate too much of the plants and now some are dying, the light burnt out, they're eating more and more and seem to always like the expensive bugs- Hahaha.
Thank you both for this. My question is, how many isopods should I be putting in? I know they'll reproduce and all, but is say, 25 enough in each cage or should I be getting alot more?
Yes. I know they aren't a staple, but mixed in with crickets, wax worms, and greens like they're doing would be a good variety, right?
Also, if they are high in water, how could they get dehydrated? I thought they were a good treat for a dehydrated chameleon because they had so much water.
So, since I've had my chameleons, Iv'e either had paper towels on the bottom of their cages to help with humidity or nothing at all. I've been researching bioactive enclosures for the past couple months, and they look amazing and sound like they'd be amazing for my chameleons, but I want to know...
You could try hornworms if you can get your hands on some. Reptile expos usually have them they are rather pricey though. I got some for my chams and they seem to like them. Plus it's a health alternative since they aren't as fatty and provide more protein than some other choices.
I tried mealworms once just to see if she'd eat them. She mostly wants crickets. She ate super worms on the occasion, but not many. I can't find many other things around where I live to feed her that won't be too big. All of her shed went good besides the little bit.
She's 5 months old or so...
So everything was smooth with my chameleons shed and I was told not to help with any bits of it. She had gotten off the bit on her face I was worried about, but there's still a little spot. I've made sure I don't directly mist her so the shed won't stick. I've seen her drink from leaves and eat...
Hello.
For a start, when it comes to holding, the trick I think is to sit down in front of her cage. Let her see you. Let her understand you aren't there to hurt her. Then, after doing that for a couple days, try opening her cage and just holding your hand still in it. She probably won't like...
She usually climbs up to my glasses. She doesn't seem stressed out. Her colors get very dark the second she's stressed (ie, if I go to clean her cage and she doesn't want it, she will get this dark pattern). Is there other signs she's stressed? I figured she liked my glasses/hair because it was...
She's all good! Her shed went smooth and all. She just isn't as willing to be held. Pascale will usually come up to me more, but Paige gets angry, even if I'm just reaching in to give her some crickets or superworms.
