For context, we live in Washington state.
Weather channel: there’s going to be a bomb cyclone - blizzard warning, high winds, waves reaching 30 ft
Us: it’s gonna be fine
Chameleon: starts hiding at the bottom of her enclosure, huddled to a stick, under her plants.
Us: 😅😅
You'll want to keep the ficus soil consistently damp, but NOT soaked. The Star Jasmine, water when the top couple of inches of soil is dry. Ficus tend to drop leaves easily, especially when they're moved. I agree with Jeremy that you may need to fertilize. I use the Fox Farms Big Bloom every two...
I think we’re getting there! She’s gone from eating 3-4 roach nymphs/silkworms each feeding to 10 in the last two weeks. I look at her daily and ask her when she’s going to shed again, because she’s getting too big for her skin suit 😂
Awesome okay! I’ll try this. Her lights and her dripper are a few inches off her cage on the wire shelf above, so I wouldn’t have to worry about getting the lights wet or anything if a little water builds on the screen.
Hey guys,
Here’s the issue - Darwin will do everything in her power to screen crawl. She’s a juvenile Jackson’s, and she’s in a hybrid Dragon Strand cage. She’s learned to climb her dripper tubing to get to the top screen. We’ve moved it further and further up, but she’s growing and recently...
I use a large, dark bin that I have vent holes in the top of. I keep a seedling mat under one side of it so that the roaches have a hot and a cold side to choose from. I keep the hot side in the high 80s, the cool side is mid to high 70s. I do rows of egg crate on each side (try to keep them...
Three months old! He had a shed last week. Currently eating mainly fruit flies, with a few small gut loaded crickets and Dubia roaches thrown in. I very rarely handle him, and always let him crawl on and off of my hand.
I was using this guide from Chameleon Academy, as it’s a 6% and not a 12%. Didn’t want to risk a 12% with a baby that might screen crawl. Should I still lift 4 inches off the screen? His favorite spot is 6-7 inches under the UVB.
I decided to move out of the baby bin and to the 16x16x30 setup I originally bought for him, He has a 24x24x48 Dragon Strand for when he’s bigger.
Setup:
- ZooMed Repribreeze 16x16x30
- MistKing Mister
- Drangon Strand Dragon Ledges and Hydration Mount
- Arcadia 6% UVB, Jungle Dawn LED
-...
Thank you! He’s getting fruit flies 2x/day right now, and I’ll add in dubia nymphs and small crickets when he’s big enough to handle them. I’ve been talking with @JacksJill about supplements. I started on the recommendation from Chameleon Academy of Arcadia Earth Pro-A as the main supplement and...
