I'm more the styrofoam/tile adhesive kind of guy. I got a 24" x 16" x 40" dartfrog enclosure planned for the future on which I will do this again, or maybe a hybrid of the both.
I think most just coat it in silicone and sprinkle that with coconut coir or something like that.
Another way would be to use tile adhesive which will give it more of a rocky look and you can paint over it later.
You should name him quagmire. *giggity*
They have a short life span, if I were a male chameleon i would also grab every opportunity I get to get jiggy with it.
But ya, he's probably a bit of an early bloomer, but it's not unheard of.
Most of the times they do that because they want out of the enclosure, not to be with their caretaker.
It could be the enclosure is not setup properly, or the location where it stamds isnt ok and she resorts to drastic measures to find a better place to live.
Can you share a pic of the enclosure?
Petstore advise often is terrible advise and mainly aimed at getting you to purchase a lot of crappy equipment at their store that you will end up replacing soon after if you want to keep a healthy animal.

You should measure temps, this is important. She...
A chameleons hearing and sense of smell are both very bad so they rely on their vision to be aware of their surroundings and as protection from predators. So closing your eyes is a big issue if your life depends on it.

Im keeping them in the dry substrate the came with.
I plan to breed them and then ill keep em in unfertilized pottingsoil feeding them only things with little moisture.
You can also try feeding dubia roaches as your main staple. They don't jump, don't smell, are easy to breed and are more nutritious.
Crickets will eventually find their way into your home and will annoy you withctheir cricketing... I lost many hours if sleep because of them. If you can get your...
Gasping continuously would be more a sign of RI i think since he would have yrouble breathing. Does he have slime/bubbles in his mouth? Do you hear him breathe?
Gasping could also mean he's overheating.
What exactly do you mean by being 'lethargic'? Chameleons will sometimes just sit on their...
Oh you are very welcome!
We prefer having people come here before purchasing their animal so they can get prooer preperations done before they purchse. A rushed purchase is never a good purchase.
As for your choice in chameleon I think you made a good one!

They can retain sperm for longer periods so they can produce a fertile clutch after quite a while of not having been with a male...
They will also produce unfertile eggs regardless, so you will always have to deal with eggs with female veilds.
Just make sure you know how to sex em before you...
