There are too many variables to give a straight answer. However, lets assume the animal is of average adult size, and is still eating heavily, at the very peak of its appetite. (they will eat less and less as time goes on.) Now, lets assume that you are feeding off crickets that are about 5...

Live plants. Actual vines and branches in the enclosure. Start a dubia colony early. Find a nice place to collect wild feeders near by. A place that no one has reason to used pesticides/insecticides. Start learning nutrition all around period. Feeding the animal, and feeding it properly...

Wanting to encourage hunting is great. I think most feeders should be hunted by the animal. That said, in a free range setup, you are going to have lots of escapees if you go about it by just releasing the feeders across the free range, or if they have any chance of getting out of a cage...
