    Question about vent

She hasn't shed for a while. A few months I would think actually. But she did lay recently. So I wanted to make sure it wasn't a problem with that. Definitely won't pull. Just didn't know if it was bad that it was dry.

Not sure how many was laid this time, I need to dig them up. First lay was 66 on 8/14/2021, 87 on 12/5/2022, 66 on 4/06/22, now this last lay on 8/18 and 8/19/22. Cage is at 80 degrees max temp, 3 insects every 2 days (alternating one insect one day, two the next), bioactive cage, plenty of...

    Question about vent

She just laid eggs just over a week ago. I think this is after a bowel movement, but don't see anything fresh (though all bioactive, and large cage, so I don't always see it). Wanted to get other eyes on it, see if this is normal and I've just never seen it, or see if this is a problem. Thank...

leg motion after laying eggs - worry or not?

Very true. I'm hoping it is just being sore and exhausted after the ordeal. I just wasn't sure if that was common, or even likely at all... Not sure how often they get stuck in a potted plant... :(

leg motion after laying eggs - worry or not?

I'm not thinking the joints are swollen. And she does it with whatever leg is up, as she walks, definitely all four legs at one point or another. It's definitely weird, I can't find anything like this... I'm thinking to monitor for a day or two, and if anything else abnormal starts, get in to...

leg motion after laying eggs - worry or not?

Definitely positive no one else is feeding. I've stressed that to my girls that if we overfeed, she overlays and then she won't live as long. And after losing her sister at age 9 months (suspected egg problem), no one wants to lose her anytime soon. I'm pretty well in charge of missing and...

leg motion after laying eggs - worry or not?

After I got her out of the plant, I took the plant out of the cage. I put her down at the bottom, dug out a little area, put a cover down like the past laying. She ended up digging under there at some point, but I didn't find any eggs in my first pass through of the dirt. I can look closer. I...

leg motion after laying eggs - worry or not?

FYI, this part was written before I found the eggs. ----------------------------- I have a vet ready on standby. I am trying to determine if this is "normal" or not. Pez has laid one clutch before (a few months ago), clutch of 66 eggs. I have reduced her food and temp to what was suggested...

husbantry help for veiled chameleon please

Here are two pictures I got. She looks a little puffed up, just because she isn't fond of my camera.

husbantry help for veiled chameleon please

Pez is starting to open her mouth, but isn't lifting her body up. It is only about 80 at her basking point, so it isn't "too hot" which is why I see online why she would open her mouth. We just took her into the vet on Tuesday and the vet was happy with how she looked, looked in her mouth...

    [For Sale] Plants for Chameleons

good to know. I have a large bioactive enclosure, so about 6ft tall, 2 ft deep and 5ft wide. I would mostly want it in the ground, somewhere close to the middle, but only if it makes sense.... I have been looking for a rubber tree for so long, and seen it so many times as chameleon safe, that...

Chameleon just took a bite out of his plant....

Thank you so much. I am trying to learn, but when there is such variety of "safe lists" out there, it is hard to know. Thank you for your great reply and help. I so greatly appreciate it. :)

    [For Sale] Plants for Chameleons

And sorry, I say rubber tree, but I guess I mean rubber plant. It is more tree like, that's why I call it a tree, lol. Ficus elastica 'Tineke Rubber Plant' Thank you for the link, I will check that out as well. So hard when there are so many lists, but each has their own considerations to...

Chameleon just took a bite out of his plant....

Things like this confuse me.... Online it is mentioned veiled chameleons can eat fruit/veggies if they want, here people talk about giving them this and yet, I also see this being discouraged. What is the right answer? Can veiled chameleons have veggies/hibiscus flowers/fruits.

    [For Sale] Plants for Chameleons

looking online and rubber tree sounds good for chameleons, yet on this forum, some say the sap is toxic. Is it safe or not? I know lots of stuff online is not recommended on this forum (for many reasons), but I don't know if the rubber tree is truly good for a chameleon. My veiled chameleon...

    Biggest cage

Thanks. It's a great cage. Was just easier to make something that worked for the space we had, to give her the most we could.

    Biggest cage

We've got a bioactive cage, made out of wood, 6 feet tall, 1.5 feet deep and 5 feet wide. Pez loves the space and plenty of room for plants. Being bioactive is so convenient especially with girls who have to lay eggs occasionally.
