Hi Jann! Wow it's great to see that you're still on here. : ) I got him from Wild side Chameleons about 2 hours north of me. I originally wanted something local so I could just pick him up but my schedule didn't work out with the breeder's, so I had him shipped. And after I made this post I sent...
Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for where I can order Discoid roaches? I'm in FL, so I can't get Dubias, and I've always went to the herp shop to purchase Discoids, but it's about 30 min away from my house, and 50% of the time they're out. I just want a more convenient and surefire...
Hey all! I used to be a pretty regular member on here back a few years ago, not so much anymore. I am still very much so still into chameleons, and wanted to share some photos of our new guy that we named Bernard, AKA the Nardzard. He's an Ambanja, and I was told he was about 7 months old, but...
Hey guys!
I was taking photos of Benedict on some vines when this weird bug flew up. He immediately went to eat it. I thought it was a stink bug at first but it definitely is not upon further research. Does anyone know what this is?
Thanks Jann :) They don't really prefer to be around eachother. They both get skiddish and Benedict puts his competition colors on. I didn't let them too close to eachother the other day because I could tell they would fight haha. Oh sibling rivalry at its finest.
I think it may be just acclimating to his new home like said above. They do tend to stress when their homes are rearranged or moved. He looks under a year. Maybe 6 months? His arms look pretty skinny though! Do you know his history at all? He's very pretty :)
Hey guys,
Just a quick update on my boys. They are now 8 months old and looking like they came from two different hatches!
Here's Bogart (the little sweet boy we got with pretty severe MBD for a 4 month old who has made a sparkling recovery!)
Not a spot of red on him. A true blue...
I am not completely sure. The breeder told me he was the runt. Do runts usually have trouble with absorbing? I was thinking since he was the "runt" maybe that's why he was affected and none of his siblings were. I don't know though. He eats like a beast and he doesn't have any trouble shooting...
Could be just a sperm plug. Prolapses usually are a pink/dark pink color. Sperm plugs look like a long hard and dry piece of shed. Pictures wouldn't hurt just in case I'm misunderstanding :)
Thanks. I'm so glad he's growing up well as well. I can't imagine how he got in the state he was in but I'm not complaining as long as it doesn't progress :)
I couldn't give him back! The breeder asked me to ship him back and he'd send me another but instead I told him we'd keep him, and we ended up getting his brother as well. Thanks! :)
Hey guys, just thought I'd shoot an update for our runt baby Bogart. to spare you finding his background story I got him from a breeder and he showed up with somewhat severe MBD for being only 4 months old.
His front limbs both look like this and his back ones look like Z's. He was also the...
Thanks everyone!
Little boy is doing wonderful. I didn't get to take any pictures of him today bt he's grown so much since I've had him. He's eating like a pig and just finished all his calcium injections :)
Jann, that is too funny! Benedict shot his tongue and I was like, "cool! He's...
Benedict turned 5 months yesterday! It's beautiful here in FL today so I let him sit outside on one of our hibiscus. He was on edge, trying to catch bugs so I put some crickets all over it and let him go to town. :)
Later I'll post a thread dedicated to his brother with MBD. He's almost caught...
Thanks so much :) Bogart is doing wonderful. He eats his worm every day along with his gutloaded crickets and he has about a week's left of injections to give. He shows prettier colors now too. He still needs to catch up to his brother though. He is still pretty gray-blue. I'm glad I caught it...
