I have some Brookesia therezieni. Veg light but no uvb. Only uvb source is from nearby cages. They’re great eaters but I’m not sure how to supplement. Dust without d3 primarily with an occasional d3 dusting as with normal Chams?
Thank you so much, just hope to make sure they’re all the same species and then I’ll be good to go! 5 of them ate 25 crickets as fast as they could after I agitated them for pictures, minutes after putting them into their enclosure. I was surprised for a wc species, acclimation typically spooks...
Pic 3 and 5 seem to be the outliers. Thank you so much for any help and I love this community. So glad I’m back in the hobby.
I appreciate you and wanted to say that even if there is a species mixup that they have all hydrated and every single one has eaten at least 3 crickets. Very impressed...
2 males and 3 females came in today. I see some slight differences and think there’s a possibility of the typical superciliaris mixup. I’m going to let them hydrate for a bit and have a chance to settle in and then grab pics after. I just need to know what the best pictures to help with this...
For sure! Luckily the Jackson’s are the cb babies in the classifieds here. Couldn’t help myself. Already looking awesome at 5 months. I sure wish rampheleon sp. we’re around but the Brookesia are definitely cool. It’s weird the last time I was into this stuff it was impossible to find a...
Ah it’s all good man. I have been back and forth on the cage size but I think I will try 18x18 for a bit and If any problems etc come up I’ll make the necessary changes. Thanks so much! Have a good one.
I jumped back into the hobby pretty heavy all at once because I missed it so bad, I built a...
Thank you for the very detailed response! I should have been more response. I am getting a pair of 5 month old cb pair of jacksonii jacksonii. That’s the only reason I considered the 18 an option. Seriously thank you so much for the info
Fairly good with chameleons. Bought and reserved a pair of Kenya Jackson’s.
building the cage before I have them shipped. I am going to move soon and space may be a slight issue. (College rent house)
I plan to build a “tandem” setup with them basically being one cage but 2 enclosures, divider...
Hey man! Couple of quick questions. If you don’t mind. I’m just getting back into the hobby after a few year break. I built a 40 gallon naturalistic terrarium for 5 Brookesia therezieni.
I made the background out of spray foam cut ledges for shade..... had a blast. Covered the foam with...
Full, left, middle, right.
between 10 and 14 inches from substrate to the screen depending on where in the cage they are. Middle is a bit of a cave back into the backdrop. Creates 2 high areas on the left and right towards the back, but a low area along the front and middle. Added more sticks...
Thank you for the info. Luckily the source I bought from has 5 or so Brookesia sp listed all with correct species pictures from the latest batch. However due to the extreme similarities between a couple of species I’m prepared to post an ID post first thing. I’m not a serious breeder therefore...
Fair and noted, I’ll add more leaves however I’m too deep into this built to switch it up. This is a bad picture and there’s really more twigs throughout as well as shaded overhangs from the back drop I made. 3 inch false bottom and a pretty deep drainage layer then substrate but I hear you and...
18x36x17 40 gallon setup. Just got it finished up today. False bottom, 3 gallon fish tank filter built into background to make a very small river down a siliconed log. It’s on right side. Nowhere deep enough to cause issues and will help with humidity. Background is spray foam sealed with...
Right now I have a full spectrum led plant grow light to help kickstart the terrarium. I have tons of uvb stuff laying around for all different levels. Just needing to get these plants a head start! Glad I went false bottom route with a small river down an siliconed branch. Background is...
Sorry to keep bothering you so much. But they’re stocked on they’re website. Thank you soooooo much. I couldn’t be more excited. Can’t wait to introduce them to their new home!
