Thank you. I have read it, and such appearing in a chamcare search found it, and brought me here
I just keep finding other pages that list supposed edibles, such as the pinkies, and gut loading with fish food as good; and then, on here, I find out otherwise.
For all it's worth, I'm sticking...
Thanks for the link, and listed variety. Veiled and Jackson can eat about the same things, right?
Sweet. I'll check this out later tonight.
Thanks again!
I'm sorry, I thought I'd stated mealworms in the title and question.
I don't have a garden in, yet, to harvest 'pasture plankton' (bugs), so store bought is all she's getting - for now. Grubs are usually found when the garden's going in. I do believe they're June bug larvae. If not safe, my...
I hear you, and thank you.
As for now, no true routine set up, as that's why all the questions, LoL.
When I get my computer on, I'll look at doing that.
In the meantime, heading out for more crickets, while waiting for my first pinheads to hatch.
Also kinda wondering about grubs.... Edible, or no?
Didn't think I needed to, so no I did not.
Oh, no, no, no, of course not!
She gets about 4-6 pretty small ones every day with her crickets, as she IS a growing girl.
I did post a pic of her in the photo section on Sunday.
The feeding guide frowns on corn, so I guess no corn meal, however neither oats nor bran are listed.
At the moment my worms are in oats, which is the better? Is there an alternative to these meal choices? I have wild harvested oat as well as the store bought, just looking for the best for the...
Looking for vitaminless calcium, I came across Thrive brand, supposedly for hermit crabs, and other shelled critters. Is this ok for the chameleon? I couldn't find a value of phosphorus, so not sure if it's in there or not.
Another alternative I'm thinking of, is eggshells... Does anyone know...

Does anyone add the calcium powder to the water? If so, how much to mix in?
The thought only occurred to me last night when I saw dried white droplets on the glass of the pet store chameleon's tank. Mine will drink from a handheld water bottle, so..... I would certainly be able to monitor the...
Some 30+ years ago, there was contact (reference Jaime Lee Curtis in the movie Fierce Creatures, when she meets the gorilla).
Fast forward to this last Christmas, a gift in the form of a chameleon was received, and the frenzied research began.
It was on the internet, it MUST be TRUE! Right?
How...
I plan on it, however - all due respect to the above pages and posters, combined with previous experience in forums, I researched the query before 'reinventing the wheel'. I didn't want to raise a question without doing my research first.
Although it does raise the question... with the debate...
Sooo.....
Reading through this thread, while comprehending the cons of pinkies (it would be as close to newborn as possible in my case) I was considering adding the rare pinkie as a calcium boost after last night's reading made me aware that I was potentially misinformed when originally told one...
