    My Chameleon won't eat.

I always recommend letting some black soldier fly larvae (AKA: BSFL, Calciworms, Phoenix worms, Reptiworms) pupate into flies and letting them in there. If a flying insect doesn't trigger a response, something is very wrong. While you are waiting for some flyers, try roaches, silk worms, stick...

    feeder food

I feed carrots (with other veggies) all the time because they don't mold and they are like 45 cents a pound at Walmart. So I over feed the carrots, then whatever else I feed, I try to make sure it is consumed within 24 - 48 hours. And bugs do seem to prefer food they haven't had in a while...

    Vacation question

If you feed bsf, letting some larvae to pupate in a cup with a hole to allow the flies to escape will provide food. Doubt they would be ready to pupate unless you got older larvae.

    Providing Water For Veileds

+1 about what ERKleRose said about the bacteria. Dont throw it away though... they are good for short term use ie. cham is a bit dehydrated or you have a 3 day weekend. After that it should be cleaned with diluted bleach, allowed to dry until no more bleach smell is present then put away...

    Just making sure, please comment...

Just because some people occasionally get away with keeping them together, doesn't mean it's a good idea. The female will almost certainly be stressed. Maybe to a point where she will not bask because he is basking or drink because she sees him and is stressed. She may not eat because she is...

    Baby panther cahmeleons dont eat

I picture of the set up could be helpful. Is there ventilation? Its been 20 years since my last babier but I know I lost a bunch of veildes from my first batch... too many in a 10 gallon aquarium is what I blamed. For the next batch, (I wish I could remember more details) I used a plastic tub...

where to buy cheap Bulk BSFL and Wax

Flukers was the cheapest I found on BSFL. I seldom use wax worms so I wouldn't know. Might be cheaper to order from 2 different places.

Arlo won't eat anything but super worms! Help!

your cham has become a food snob. You can starve him but I prefer to find something even more appealing than super worms. it's too bad about roaches in Canada because green banana roaches are great for breaking hunger strikes. You can try stick insects or letting your BSFL pupate into flies...

    Trouble keeping dubias warm

A lid to hold in the heat will help. Also, if it stays 85 right on top of the heat source, they will be ok.

    BSFL question

mine was about the same price... its a 6 bottle fridge with the bottom rack removed so now its a 2 bottle fridge. great investment. I buy my BSFL by the thousand for about the same price as crickets. Next year I will try a BSFL harvester to get wild flies to last me through the year.

    BSFL question

A regular fridge will kill them. You really need something that is a bit warmer. I keep mine in a wine fridge. I've had them for 7 months so far and they are still alive and will hatch into flies. I think that you can put them in a regular fridge for 1 day in and one day out to make them...

Weekend road trip. How to help my non reptile family care for my boy?

The fountain is a great thing to have for weekends away and for for rehydrating a recovering chameleon. When done, wash with 5:1 (approx.) water/ bleach solution, rinse well and allow to dry completely (if you smell bleach it still needs to dry) before storing. These used to be considered the...

    Jackson's Care/General Info

some additional info for any species..... Feeder variety is possibly the most over looked part of husbandry. Do lots of research and learn to keep (or buy if you're rich) at least 4 varieties.... preferably more. And like Jacksjill said, lots of live pants. That makes keeping the humidity up...

    Mealworms for my baby Jackson

Most shops in the US don't seem to have much knowledge either. Baby chams do well with fruit flies and small crickets. If you can get them... bean beetles are supposed to be great also. Easy to grow as well. Baby super worms are good as well...

Generally we feed adults every other day. I am switching from dubias to orange heads. In the mean time, they eat mostly dubias and black soldier flies.
