Here are some pics:
Drainage Bulkhead in drip tray

Leading to bucket in cabinet
Covered for the night. I do not do this while his lights are still on because it creates a mirror image on the inside that way and I don't want him freaking himself out
Top of...
So I found a cabinet that happened to fit two Lowe's 5 gallon buckets in its compartment underneath and also had 'cord holes' in the back wall. I too have the drainage tray like medic man that I drilled holes in and added mist king bulkheads to. Fitted those with tubes and ran them down into one...
I have mine in my living room and this was a worry for me at the beginning too....here is what we did. I set two 1" square blocks across the depth on the top of the cage to hold the light up and also drilled hooks into the ends on the front and the sides in the back. I bought a cheap thick black...
You know I searched his thread again and found this nugget:
"A 6% bulb in a single bulb parabolic fixture yields about as much UV into the environment as a 12% bulb in a quad fixture."
So I am glad I went with the 12%!
Sorry left out some pertinent info there....he is a 12 month old panther, it is a T5 bulb
I just added a plexiglass to the right 6 inches....so he doesn't have to bask and be forced under the uv. I plan on adding a second basking spot as well to give him choice. So as it is now, the closest he...
This is a Large Atrium dragon strand cage (45.25″ wide x 44.25″ high x 22.25″ deep) and I have currently a 12% arcadia bulb in the quad fixture from light your reptiles right now. It is on legs about 5.5 inches above the screen....so about 12 inches away from his highest branches. I have tried...
That is a good point.
As it is I do "bug groceries" every other day.....and that gets tiring. BUT if it is easier to just grab the thawed cube and smear it, that might be better actually than chopping so...hmm. Going to have to try and see. As long as it gets into the bugs the same that's all I...
Thank you I will definitely check that out.
I am guessing that this is more beneficial than just dropping in whole ingredients? I guess either way if good....this seems like a more convenient way to gutload during the week for sure though!
I see here that quite a few people make a blended mash of gut load foods. I had been just chopping up fresh veggies and putting them in with my bugs in bits....
Is it better to make a mash instead? I am assuming that maybe this would make it easier for the bugs to eat?
Good questions!
The only real plants are 3 pothos and one ficus, the rest is fake until those grow in more.
I thought about a 48" light but I went with a 36" to give him a "no UV" zone on the left most 6" of his cage, even at the top. Especially since he has the 12% bulb. He has plenty of...
We just added some things to Stu's cage and are wanting opinions....he is an 11 month old ambilobe.
He is in a large dragon strand atrium clear side. Lighting is the 36"quad with a 12% arcadia bulb. I have the light on the extended legs so it does not sit right on the screen and also much...
Wow Jann so many beauties that are clearly well loved and cared for, thank you for sharing! It appears from your pics that their colors can change throughout years correct? I particularly noticed that Mufasa seemed to change well after his first year?
