I just heard back from the vet, she said it's a very good thing I brought her in today, her white blood cell count was VERY high.
They were originally telling me we would 3 to 7 rounds of antibiotics (depending on the results of the blood work) but due to the high levels they want to do 10...
We went to the vet today. As you can see she was very mad about it. The vet said she has an infection of some kind which they believe is causing the edema. Her respiratory is clear and everything else looks very good. She's ofcourse still very small, but has put on a lot of weight since being in...
But it could be because she's getting getting ready to lay soon, she doesn't appear to be gravid yet, but that could very well be what's causing it.
She's my first and only female, I might be a little over cautious and a bit of a worrywart over her.
When none of my family is available to help me, I usually hire a neighborhood kid to come by when we go out of town. I have 5 reptiles, 3 different speices, (plus 3 dogs, so boarding would probably cost as much as my vacation for all of them)
I have him come over before I leave to go over all...
Ok so good news, I just got off work and the horn worm is gone! I looked all around her cage and don't see it anywhere, she's also moved closer to where I had left it, so I think she ate it!
It's been a week since ate, I believe it was Thursday or Friday, probably 8 crickets, give or take? I...
Well, I've tried to get her to eat the horn worm today. I tried placing it in there, I tried holding it on a stick in front of her, I have left it walked away. But still she won't eat it. :(
I couldn't get her the hornworm tonight, it was almost 7 by the time I got back from the petstore, only an hour before lights out. So I'm going to try in the morning. She did turn herself around, still in the same location, but hiding is more her style, so maybe that's a good thing.
I don't have access to silkworms locally, but I think I will pick up some horn worms this afternoon, to see if she shows any interest there, good idea.
Hornworms are always a big hit in my house for all the lizards lol so it's worth a try (y)
Yes, she also has a favorite spot, it's actually behind the vines where she can hide. She would spend most of her time back there but she would also still make her rounds, hang out under the light, a couple laps around the cage, go back to her hiding spot when ever I'd come by unless I had food...
You read my mind, cause I was just getting ready to post on here
So I still dont think things are ok with her, the gular edema seems to have gone down. But she's still not eating or moving around. I brought her cricket bowl up to her to see if maybe she would eat, she wouldn't, she just...
That's a relief. Thanks again @Brodybreaux25 ! As always you have been such a huge help. I'm such a basket case when it comes to her, she does so much as moves funny and I'm ready to rush her to the vet. Unfortunately for me, her vet doesn't actually help my anxiety most the time but helps to...
Ok! I just ordered reptivite with d3 off Amazon, it'll be here in Tuesday (y)
So about where she is in the egg laying, I attempted to take pictures, but this girl is sassy beyond belief, so I'm not sure how helpful these pictures are, she was MAD. I haven't seen her that mad since her last vet...
Brody I was so hoping you'd comment! I almost tagged you or sent you a PM cause you're always so helpful!
I dont believe she's gravid, but I really dont know, I thought she was starting to produce egg early October, but then nothing. Now no other signs are showing that she is. And she isn't...
I can definitely do that, I thought 3 weeks was good but doing a week earlier is easy enough, I'll change the routine with my male as well.
I'm definitely calling the vet in morning. Do you think that could be causing the swelling? Have you ever seen this before?
Also I will add more...
Let me add, I think she's getting ready to shed soon. Not sure if that has any impact on her behavior, it never has with my male. But thought I'd include that.
