The fan can be switch to blow in or suck out. So far I have found I cannot leave it on all the time otherwise the humidity decreases so I turn it off at night when I’m supposed to have a increase in humidity. But during the day when I do have it on should it push air in or take it out? It is...
I’m a very new chameleon owner but I do have a bag with isopods and springtails. I added them several weeks ago and at first I thought i killed them because I didn’t see any. I checked a little deeper today when adding more branches and the were just deeper in the leaf litter than I expected. I...
It’s terra firma from the biodude. I used copied his video on how to set up a bioactive set up for chameleon. I also followed someone suggestion and added a fan to the top to ensure that the airflow was still good sense the bag of dirt was blocking some of the screen on the bottom
Yes the only skinny branch I took out was the one on top because it broke. There’s four skinny branches going across the back and the middle. I will add another skinner one of top too so there’s different sizes where she hangs out the most.
Okay thanks. I would rather not have them in there I just wanted to make sure she would have plenty of things to climb with different diameters. The plateaus is growing really fast it’s only been in there a month and a half and they started off really short. Thanks!
I added more branches because my Chamaeleon, Cricket, grew and she looked uncomfortable on the stick she sits to bask. Originally I had some fake vines in this cage because all of my Vining plants are pretty new. They’ve started to take off but there still is not a lot of vines to climb. I have...
Thanks again she is much more active and explores more of her cage after the great suggestions you gave me last time. I bet this will make her even happier!
My Chamaeleon, Cricket, was very tiny when I first got her and now she’s about six months old. The initial branches I put in there seem a little tiny for her. Her feet wrap all the way around them and lately I’ve seen her walking on the live plants more than the branches. I’m wondering if I...
Thank you for explaining that. I ordered a fan today and another gauge to put lower today so hopefully by next week I will have everything set up more correctly. I’m going to put a new thread up with all changes I made to ensure I didn’t miss anything. Chameleons are a lot more complex then I...
Great. I got my stand also so the cage will be Elevated tomorrow. I was Misting it way too much because my gauge said it was too low. I’m hooking up my Mist King system tomorrow when I put it on the stand. Part of the bottom is blocked but not all of it I will attach a picture. After I set the...
I just got my new hygrometer today and I can not believe how different the reading are. My old one said it was 30% and the new one says 80%. I’m going to have to drastically change what I’m doing to be in the right ranges but thank you for the suggestion I would have never known. Also some of my...
Thank you I will order her one. They are 1/2 inch banded crickets. She does eat more of the roaches at once. I’ve been Alternating days but if I should be feeding her both every day I will I just wasn’t sure what to do. Or if I need to offer her food more than once a day. How many bugs a day...
Sorry I forgot to address this. I was measuring humidity with the gauge that also had a thermometer on it. I just ordered the recommended one so it will be switched to.
Thank you so much for going through here and helping me I am new to chameleons. I did drill holes on the bottom and plan to make a drainage system once it’s on its rack. Yes I spray painted and sealed it with waterproofing two weeks ago. I had a lot of other things happen in that time frame so I...
