URI? Convulsing (sort of) and other weird behavior...

Sorry for the late reply! I was out of service area for awhile. She is fine, both girls have laid their first batch of eggs. She doesn't do it much, but still every couple of weeks she will. At this point I'm going to assume she is just odd; at her checkup, the vet had no idea, and she has no...

    Cham isn’t growing

Correction for clarity: She should have calcium WITHOUT D3 at all feedings and then 2 times a month on opposite weeks she should get a multivitamin with D3 like reptivite withD3.

    All the foods hornworms eat

Adding pureed bell pepper seems to make the worms more willing to eat this, and both methylparaben powder and calcium proprionate (preservatives) inhibit microbial growth. They're both used in human food, so I assume that's good enough for chams

    All the foods hornworms eat

Pepper leaves are also toxic, btw

What do i feed my hornworms?

As others have mentioned, sometimes you can get them to eat collards; bell peppers and romaine are also sometimes eaten, but sometimes the hornworms just ignore them. Everything they'll eat in the wild is toxic and may poison your Cham; that includes tomato/potato/pepper leaves, though tomatoes...

    Gravid?

@Dbash44 I can make some changes; I'm planning on switching out the divider between the girls' cages, so that'll be an opportune time to implement a lot of your suggestions. I'm wary of switch things up right now, though- wouldn't it be better to wait until both have laid, so I don't freak them...

    Gravid?

I've got a few more pics of Gert. She has always climbed on the screen; usually she goes all the way upside down, hangs by her back feet, and eats out of her feeder. Is that bad? She used to have more plants in the top half of the enclosure hanging down, but started hanging out on the inside of...

    Gravid?

@Dbash44 Thank you for your advice! I will adjust the light down. Here's a few more pics of Bonnie and her enclosure. The mister only runs for ~2-3 hours each night, things get damp but not stopping wet. I have things arranges so the dripper and runoff go into some of the plants; the fittonia...

    Gravid?

Got some more pics of Bonnie; she's not as camera-shy. I should mention that the first indicator I had that something might be off was Gert acting like she would bite me; she didn't, but she never so much as threatened before

    Gravid?

I didn't get an answer, thanks for checking! Here's the info, it applies to both Bonnie and Gert (her sister that I got at the same time. Yes, they are in separate enclosures ?. I believe I set up the laybin correctly; each has a bin about 12L*8W*12H, filled to an inch below the top with a 2:1:1...

Help!!!! Mealy Bugs in my Bioactive enclosure!!!

The larvae should pupate within 2-3 weeks, and your Cham will probably eat the adults before they get a chance to breed

Help!!!! Mealy Bugs in my Bioactive enclosure!!!

Green lacewing larvae eat mealies, and the adults are a treat for your Cham. Only downside is they'll definitely snack on your clean up crew, so you may want to pull some out to culture and restock after in case the population is really decimated. You can find lacewings/larvae on eBay as natural...

    Gravid?

Is Bonnie gravid? 8 month old ambilobe, never laid eggs before, never bred. I didn't see a receptive period, but maybe I just didn't notice? There is a laybin in the enclosure.

    How Has Everyone Been Affected?

I've taken to boiling the rain water I usually collect for my plants for my chams/tortoises; all the stores have a limit of 1-3 gallons/household, and my partner drinks an entire gallon a day :/ So far I'm not drinking the rain water, but my cat is pickier than I, so it may come to that. My tap...

    Pascal's New Bioactive Home!

Hey, plant enthusiast here! Feel free to ignore, this is long. Lights: Any 6500k (referring to color temperature') light will provide 'a decent range of plant-available light; 5000k can as well, it just won't be as much. Both LEDs and florescent bulbs/tubes will work, but LEDs tend to have a...

Spikes just arrived in the mail today, question about storing them and letting them pupate into BBFs

They like chicken liver, and it's pretty nutritious. Can be smelly, though... Also, you don't HAVE to feed the spikes; they'll pupate even if you withhold food, as long as they're at room temp or so. The flies will eat meat (and lay eggs too :/) but they'll also eat sweet, nectary things. If you...
