UPDATE: My mother and father said that I am not allowed to use a heating pad for the roaches. They say that they will not pay the electricity for a heating pad to keep the roaches they don't want alive.... So, any ideas? Anybody? I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the temperatures on the RARE...
Chameleons tend to shut down when they get EXTREMELY stressed out, so I would quit picking him up/ and or handling him and see how that helps. Also, keep us on the forum posted, and if needed we will let you know if he needs veterinary care. We are here to help, after all. :)
Hello!
I am also a new veiled owner, and one of the several things I learned really fast was that the basking spot should be around 85-87 degrees for a juvenile. You can increase it as the cham gets older, but that may be a part of your problems.
I am in southern Ohio, near Cincinnati. Sorry.

Dubia are the best option.
Dubia are the least money-sucking feeder.
Stickbugs are the next best thing.
If all else fails, silkworms are good.
Crickets smell.
Keep going at the parents until they cave.
And no, my...
Hey guys! Mom finally caved when I went on an extensive rant about feeder insects, and told me that I could keep the insects in the garage... would that work out? I was considering getting the dubia roaches, and was wondering if they would be able to survive in a garage..... it gets around 1-2...
So, I went to ghanns crickets, and the cost on the website was 10 bucks for 250 1/4" crickets. is this right? The cost didn't change no matter the quantity....
