Is the reservoir placed above the pump?
The pump can't suck water from the reservoir if it is below the pump.
Also, have you removed the caps from the mist heads?
You pay more because one says "Basking bulb" and has a photo of a lizard on the box.
A standard, household, incandescent flood bulb is the exact same bulb and costs 20% of the pet shop price.
Maybe I'm just lucky with my tap water.
Its relatively hard, but still works perfectly in my MISTKING.
I think part of that is the absolute power of the pump.
I have back up nozzles. I'd planned to swap them out a couple times a year and clean the other set in some LIME-A-WAY. But, so far, my...
The bowl/container that I usually dust my feeders in is pretty tall.
The banded crickets can jump clean out of it with a single hop!
They also don't neccesarily stay in the feeder cups....
I'm posting updates on his MBD on another thread. But he's making progress.
I purchased him from an unscrupulous pet shop with MBD. Fellow forum members caught it. My vet confirmed it. And he's being treated.
We go back to the vet for more Xrays this Wednesday.
Thanks
I just received my Banded crickets from Josh's frogs.
There was not a single dead cricket in the tub!
I'm curious to see how much more hardier they are.
My first observation is that they are physically larger and heavier bodied.
And that their chirping is more pleasant somehow. Less harsh than...
He isn't "free range" fed at all.
Everything he eats, he just grabs out of his cup within a few inches of his face with a quick flick of the tongue.
No long distance strikes.
This won't be an issue.
I've made several purchases from them.
The first one was a mid level MISTKING system. It arrived with parts missing. Josh's frogs took care of it.
I have their SOLARMETER 6.5R.
And I actually have an order of their Banded Crickets arriving tomorrow
I did have a 100 gallon aquarium that a glass shop drilled a 2" hole in.
They used a diamond abrasive wheel.
And that was tempered glass...
Maybe make a few phone calls and see if its economically feasible.
Then you can attach a PVC bulkhead. Etc.
You could also remove the bottom glass and...
Purified if you MUST. RO is still good. Do not use Distilled.
I use straight tap water and in about 14 months, my tips are all still spraying just fine.
However, all tap water is not created equally!
We go back to see Dr. Pardini again next Wednesday the 17th.
I'll take photos of the newest xray. (If I can)
Thanks for the information about his tongue.
The last time he shot it out. Maybe 3 weeks ago, he had issues with getting it back in his mouth. He looks fine. His mouth and tongue LOOK ok...
I've been bitten with much more force by much smaller lizards.
A blue tail skink bites like a pair of needle nosed pliers and even a small Knights Anole can bring a tear to a grown man's eye.
This was a 3 out of 10.
Coiled CFL are not ideal for a Chameleon.
They broadcast uvb in a very small area and they are bright enough to injure eyes.
Get yourself a T5 HO Strip Florescent
Is your UVB "BULB" a screw in coiled CFL or a linear T5 tube UVB?
And your food items need daily dusting with calcium. And with D3 calcium once a week to 10 days.
