I am seeing a drastic change almost every day. I've got to say, it has been a long time since I have owned a chameleon. I had forgotten how exciting it was to watch a baby grow and mature. I had always wanted a Rainbow Panther, you know, because rainbows are pretty. He makes me happy. . 5...
I had a female veiled, she had an amazing personality! She loved to be around me! I was Human, the bringer of food, provider of safety, source of security. ❤️
Does his head seem a bit puffy to anyone else? I've not seen other pictures where the head bulges around the ridges... Not that I know what that might mean, just an observation.
I've converted this display cabinet into an enclosure. I took out the glass on the sides and put plasti-coat coated hardware cloth. I left glass on the front which helps keep humidity in.
I have wired bathroom vanity lights to the top. (I'm going to recess them soon, so he can't grab onto...
4.2 month Ambilobe.
This is getting really exciting! He's really grown over the past 2 weeks!
That one spot almost looks like it could have some purple... Time will tell!
I like that container, but my suggestion would be to rig it up with crickets, then place that container inside your cham cage. Rig a perch that hovers above the crickets in the container so cham can get to the crickets, but they can't get out. Leave plenty of food/water cubes for the crickets...
I had a PetSmart veiled many many years ago. She lived 3 years before getting a puffed up eye. We had it lanced by a vet, but a month later that was it. I loved her so much. I recognize that this was likely a deficiency of some sort, but I didn't know any better, and the internet wasn't what...
Im very glad I came across this post today, now I feel a little better for a similar reason!
I had Groot on his tree today, and thought I would improve his house with more plants and cover areas for basking. He happened to pick today for shedding as well, so, double whammy. . He did have a...
I had never heard of a cham jumping until I went to a reptile show and actually saw a juvenile Veiled jump off of a kids arm! It was the strangest thing! It fell only 9 inches or so to the table in front of the kid, but it still startled me. I've never seen that behavior!
My panther only eats roaches as a last resort. Do you have any crickets you can get your hands on? I'm hoping my boy will make the switch when he gets older, but he definitely prefers crickets. He even prefers nutrigrubs, over roaches!
I've read enough postings on this site to scare me into controlling every aspect of my chams diet. It seems baby boy has other ideas. When he basks in his tree, flying bugs come to see the sweet smelling gardenia so I moved the tree inside when I saw him going after them. So now he's happily...
I leave mine in a container if there's any left at the end of the day. I do not let my crickets keep their hoppy legs, so the cannot escape the food bowl. I just don't want the Cham waiting for me to get up if he's hungry! If they are still in the bowl by the time I mosey down, I dump them...
