Jacksons are pretty easy to take care of. I have a 2 year old male and 5 month old female.
I follow a standard dusting schedule except I only dust every other feeding. (While still including d3 and multivitamin) I don't have a misting system but use a pump mist sprayer and mist them about 5-8...
Thanks for the tips! I won't be rushing the breeding process. I'll make sure she is full grown and healthy before attempting on introducing them together. Right now she is eating lots , even more then my full grown male . she is eating crickets, roaches , isopods and occasional wild bugs I get...
Meet my new female Jackson Cera! She is about 3 months old and hopefully a pair for my male in the future.
Question How long should I wait before introducing her to the male? I was thinking about 6 months old. (3 or 4 from now)
She's a little skinny but eating a lot right now. A varied diet...
Going to look at this tomorrow (craigslist ad) how big do you think it is ? I have a jackson chameleon and just want to make sure it's large enough . Thank you
Top photo is from October 5th of last year. Bottom is now... look at that horn growth!
Question: how old do you think he was when I first got him ?? My guess is 5 months but not sure.. Thanks!!
I usually use tongs when feeding my cham.
Try feeding other things besides crickets to vary the diet and keep the cham from getting bored of one feeder. Sometimes they will go nuts over something new
Mealworms have a tough shell that can cause digestive issues.
As far as outside goes , the longer the better. I bring mine out 3 times a week on average but obviously depends on weather. I live in hawaii so it's usually perfect most days
Gutload your bugs
Diversify the chameleons diet
You need more than just calcium
Take her outside for real sun if possible
Make it completely dark at night
Provide her with a proper egg laying bin
Don't feed many mealworms if any at all
Most important. ..research lots here.
