    parasite or bug?

yeah kinda thought if I can see it probably not a parasite but I've seen dog worms and stuff so I wanted to be cautious, thanks I usually feed most of what I have weekly, I don't have full blown colonies or anything. but any reason to not keep them together? they seem to leave each other alone...

    parasite or bug?

so I was cleaning out my cricket/dubia enclosure and found a bunch of these little bugs in there. never had any kind of worms in that tank before, so now I'm thinking I gotta dump all the crickets and dubia I had if this is parasitic. first pic is really zoomed in for detail, second one is for a...

Who's bought a chameleon from a friend before?

im pretty sure that is an exoterra cage setup, I personally dont think it's as good for them as screen. but they are designed specifically to create airflow which is the only reason I said to make sure to monitor the humidity close and if it's not dropping enough use the fan

    Is this ok?

yeah that will work only other thing you may wanna check with that, t5/t8 etc refers to thickness of bulb. most fixtures dont matter too much what you put in them, that one looks like it might. so the bulb you sent a pic of is t5, I'd make sure in the description of that arcadia that it will...

Who's bought a chameleon from a friend before?

I would fill out the how to ask for help form if you're looking for advice on husbandry https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/ but I'd agree with @leedragon on just about everything if you notice humidity is staying too high and not getting enough airflow you can try setting small fan...

    Exo Terra Drainage Help.

if you're thinking about drilling I would practice on cheap glass first. I used to do it and it takes a few tries to get it down. key is to be steady and quick. dont ever stop drilling while the bit is still in the hole or it will almost certainly crack it.

    chameleons eyes closed.

I actually really like that close up on first one that's a cool pic. but yeah the help form is here https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/ without that, based off all the shedding on his face I'd guess some dead skin got in them or something and making sure his eyes get rinsed might...

    chameleons eyes closed.

is he sleeping or are you sure hes awake with his eyes closed? I've heard saline solution is safe for if there's something in his eyes. if hes sleeping, or if saline solution doesnt work I'd see a vet because you're right, if his eyes go he cant hunt or get water.

HELP! MY NOSEY BE TURNED BROWN/DARK COLOR

I'd say it could be the other chams around, especially if they are all older and would be considered more dominate. putting up barriers is a good idea. although @jamest0o0 is right, the brightest colors are the "stay back I'm colorful so I could beat you in a fight" colors. maybe since hes...

    Mother Issues

maybe put it into terms easier for people to understand. putting a jacksons in a smaller less complicated cage (I agree yours could actually have a little bit MORE added to it). is the equivalent to buying a dog and keeping it chained to a post in the yard. it may survive, but most would...

    Is this ok?

so there are better fixtures out there but I know you're looking for cheap and this is what I did... this one fits my 24" bulb (and yes its American so the plug probably wouldn't work for you) but look for something like this, just make sure the wattage would work with the tube you got (my bulb...

    Is this ok?

I'm honestly not sure what the 150 is referring to, right under the "25w" part you can make out it is a 10.0 compact which some people use, but most go with 5.0. looked at your other post. setup looks nice but 100f basking spot is way too high, especially for females, you'll want lower temps to...

    Is this ok?

I would say that's probably too much if it's meant for desert lizards I'd go for a 5.0 usually labeled as tropical instead of desert. as long as they have a place to hide from it when they want to, it might be ok. I would also try to get a linear tube sooner than later. the bulbs are only like...

Half of panther Chaneleons tail is black

I would suspend light first, if the cham is climbing on the top of the cage any light can burn them, and raising it will prevent that. if basking spot is still too hot get a light with a lower wattage. i would also read up on treating burns. from what I understand, if it is a burn, that tissue...

Half of panther Chaneleons tail is black

is his "basking spot" the place you have him in the first couple pics of the enclosure? 95-100 is too high, and if hes getting even closer than that by climbing on the roof of the cage, I would guess it's a burn

HELP! MY NOSEY BE TURNED BROWN/DARK COLOR

seems like husbandry is good, three times a day for handling might be a little much, especially if he was wild caught in Madagascar. may be stressful for an animal that hasn't been around people. has he seen a vet since being imported? tested for parasites or anything?

HELP! MY NOSEY BE TURNED BROWN/DARK COLOR

I'd fill out the how to ask for help form, a lot of it you've answer but there's some important stuff missing. pictures of enclosure can be helpful as well. https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/

Half of panther Chaneleons tail is black

I dont know. I'd take my advice with a grain of salt because im not sure. but the only two instances I've heard of with that are injuries, or shedded skin not coming off and cutting off circulation. both of which I dont think there's a lot a vet can do to save it once it's at that point. if she...
