First, let me say welcome and congrats on your new friend! Going by the picture she looks perfectly happy! Her color is good and there are no pieces of skin still stuck to her after her shed. It is always nice to see live plants as opposed to fake plants. My only comment would be adding some...
it doesn't look like a burn, those are usually black in color. To me, it almost looks like a scab from a cut. Do you use live or fake plants? Sometimes fake plants can be kinda sharp.
That happens every now and then. It is still early too so it will most likely fall off in a couple of days. If it persists then you can try increasing the humidity and mist more frequently, sometimes that helps. What are your normal humidity levels in the day and night?
I wouldn't worry. Changing enclosures can be a bit stressful so it might take a while for him to adjust. Is he shedding? CHams will often not eat, or eat very little during a shed.
She looks great! Sometimes they go darker to absorb more heat, it's normal. There are no signs of illness, her eyes are not sunken and there is no evidence of MBD so I wouldn't worry, especially if her colors are changing.
I agree with CasqueAbove, live plants are always better than fake. Fake plants are less than useless and can hurt the cham. I used this webpage for a list of plants. I got most of them from Home Depot for like $4 each. Golden Pathos is a great option.
do you happen to have a picture of his hind feet? His pattern looks male but it is hard to tell at this age. If there are bumps on his hind feet he is a male, if not female. His poop seems healthy and hydrated. If he was dehydrated you would notice yellow urate and not white. Other than that he...
Are you getting snow too? I did have a generator but it was stolen back in October and we haven't been able to find one since. Contacting the vet isnt a bad idea so I will give that a try. Thanks for the info!
So I live in an area in New England that is about to get over two feet of snow Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. There is a good chance we will lose power so I am looking for ideas to keep my veiled happy and safe before the storm hits. I have him in a 24X 42-inch screen cage with an...
So I have a lot of live plants in my veiled enclosure that doesn't get a lot of sun, I was thinking of adding a full spectrum light for the plants but wanted to check and make sure they are safe for him.
thank you that is good to hear. I'm hoping to see him drink soon. The burn he most likely came with I was looking at pictures of when I first got him and he did have the dark spots.
There are a few things that I am noticing, and I am most likely stressing over nothing. I have a male veiled just under a year old who is now displaying more vibrant colors than before. he used to go from dark olive to light green, but he has been bright more frequently recently. He is otherwise...
