    Having trouble with treatment regimen

Hi all. My journey with Edgar continues. I was finally able to get him to a reptile vet Tuesday 4/2 by driving 7 hrs round trip, and finally got into one of our local reptile vets this past Thursday. We are still waiting on fecal and blood test results. Both vets suspect dehydration, and maybe...

Male veiled can't extend tongue at all

Found a reptile vet in New Mexico and got there this afternoon. Edgar did ok but it had to stress him (7 hours round trip). Vet felt he is very dehydrated, bones "not too bad." She was able to draw blood and I left with a kit to collect and send out fecal sample for testing. He's exceedingly...

5-yr-old Veiled not looking so great

Would a dying chameleon still be hungry? He can hardly lift his head, but was motivated to move an inch and somehow eat a large silkworm that I put practically under his nose. He's had some food (wax worm, horn worm, silkworm) I would say 12 days out of the last 14, still getting fluid calcium...

5-yr-old Veiled not looking so great

This is his enclosure, he's at the top right. I've put pillows etc. at mid-point to catch him in case he tries to move. He fell from the top to the bottom twice yesterda.

5-yr-old Veiled not looking so great

Here are pics from this morning. I had to lift him to his basking area from the bottom and help him get off my hand. He seems unable to move.

5-yr-old Veiled not looking so great

Hi all. Just a sad update: Due to living in a small town with overwhelmed vets that kept passing me off to one another due to packed caseloads, I have been unable to get Edgar to a vet for testing despite trying for weeks. He was able to see a reptile vet about 3 weeks ago who prescrived liquid...

Male veiled can't extend tongue at all

Nope. His eyes were closed at that point and he was no longer interested.

Male veiled can't extend tongue at all

No, she did not. There is another vet in the next town over who is better but she has been totally booked this week (drawback of living in a small mountain town)...I'll try to see if we can get in soon.

Male veiled can't extend tongue at all

No, his eyes were completely closed and he was completely still in my hand. When I lifed him up and put him near his basking area he climbed off my hand but has been in the same place. Sleeping now.

Male veiled can't extend tongue at all

He gets straight calcium on his feeders (crickets, silkworms, wax worms, very occassional horn worms) and Reptivite D3 around the 15th and 30th of every month. I think he's not been getting enough calcium when I switched from mostly crickets to mostly silkworms as not much calcium stayed on the...

He acts hungry, but can only extend his tongue about a half inch. I'm going to try to hand feed now.
