Thank you me too! It’s so exciting that she’s doing this!
I haven’t looked in her cage at all so I’m sure she’s still in her hole bc there’s not a shadow sitting on the branches (I have curtain sections hung over her cage for privacy) I will definitely count her eggs once she’s back in the...
I heard her scratching all day in the sand and the tunnel (I peeked through a tiny crack and saw how she dug a tunnel very deep and was in it) and she actually is sleeping in it or taking a break and I’m amazed at how just the change of mixture did the trick and I’m so happy that all of you...
The new mixture is washed play sand and jungle mix! No perlite. It’s moist and she has been digging at it randomly should I put a sheet up around the center and leave her alone? Do I turn the lights on/off regular schedule?
I have her water dripper normal schedule and misting. The egg was found...
This morning I noticed in Lily’s dripper bowl had a urate that looks like an egg? It’s squishy unless this is normal sometimes? I have never seen her urate look like this before. I noticed since I changed her lay bin yesterday she’s digging a lot more in the sand too.
This is what I bought and I just checked the soil ingredients and it does have perlite and I’m freaking out so bad now 😩😩😩 She still poops daily and everything how would I know if she’s impacted? I’m using the jungle mix and this sand if that’s approved.
Also today I am redoing her lay bin and adding the sand in. Jungle Mix has sand in it also and other safe items in it and that’s what it mixed with organic potting mix but I’m taking all advice and wanted to let everyone know I appreciate the support so much
Hey! I posted the type of supplements I’m using in my other thread about her schedule I believe you did comment on there too so it should be easy to find. I am giving her the supplements on a similar schedule that you listed just the days are different, I appreciate you! And so does Lily
Yes the mixture does allow tunnels to be made and it does stick very well together. I make sure the dirt is moist always as well.
Her supplement schedule changed now that she’s older. Sometimes Lily will eat two days in a row, sometimes she wants every other day and I make sure to dust crickets...
Yesterday, I noticed Lily had her head in the her laying bin soil mixture moving it around a little as if she was slightly borrowing her head and then was shooting her tongue at certain spots on the surface. I wasn’t sure if this was okay, so I distracted her by taking her out of her enclosure...
I think we talked earlier about this but Lily is the exact same way! She is always eager to come out, even if I have treats (screw the horn worm mom I want you) and it’s kind of nice when you know it’s not common. Her brother on the other hand doesn’t like to come out anymore now that his...
Thank you SO much for all of this helpful information! I have her laying bin perfect as you stated what I needed done is done BUT I will mix it around like you said and put a plant in it, I have a spider plant that’ll work perfect for the root ball!
Hi Cham Fam! 😊
I’m curious if it looks like Lily is carrying. At certain angles she really looks large and is definitely wider than before she became receptive. I’ve read that laying the first clutch can be very stressful/difficult for some females too and that worries me a little bit
🥚 Lily...
