72-74 in your home sounds perfect.. You shouldn't need the plexi glass you want different temp grades anyways.. He should be able to get away from the heat.. You don't want the ambient temp of the cage to be 82-87.. 87 is good for the basking spot but the rest of the cage should be cooler for...
First of I just wanna start off by saying the cage looks great! Also I don't know where you live but but this time of the year with it being cooler, furnaces running, the air stays a lot dryer.. With the three sides covered and your humidity staying 45-65 you should be fine as long as there is...
Blue bottle flies can be ordered at mantisplace.com
I order silkworm eggs from coastal silkworms and raise them up on the chow.. It's convenient because I always have silkworms in all different sizes..
If you just want to buy already started worms try http://www.floridafreshsilkworms.com/
My staple feeders are crickets, dubias, and silkworms.. I also frequently use blue bottle flies, hornworms, Butterworms, black soldier fly larvae, superworms, wax worms.. In the summertime I collect local grasshoppers, stuck bugs, katydids, and mantises
In my experience don't get worried until you see young roaches dying off. When I first started my colonies I bought a bunch of adults and it seemed like they were dying let and right.. But they were just old.. If you see small roaches dying though you may have issues..
Glad to see they are doing good I'm thinking my girl will be giving birth soon she's been putting on gram a week for the last 3 weeks I need to order some melanogaster to have ready
Like others said free ranged dubias wedge into a dark spot and don't move until night time usually.. Hand/cup feeding is your best bet.. Most of the time I'll put one on the screen as they tend to run when you do that and it gets the chams attention.. In a cup they don't move very much and some...
Leo use joshsfrogs.com for fruit flies.. They are the best in my experience.. You can buy some producing cultures and get them shipped out Monday.. Sorry about your troubles hope the babies are alright
At that age to be honest Id be feeding way more than 5 a day anyways.. The first 8 months or so in a Cham's life are essential to their growth.. I feed them until they won't eat any more.. My adults I usually feed about 5-10 bugs every other day..
Hopefully the neighbor idea works out.. 3 days without feeding isn't going to kill him or anything.. But I wouldn't recommend it he's still very young and in his growing phase.. He needs as much food as he will take.. But worst case scenario it's not going to kill him.. But he will be very hungry
I got a mooi river pair back in October.. The female had been with a male prior to being shipped to me she is getting big.. 3 month gestation period for the babies seems very short. Granted this is my first time with Brady's but all the info I've found said 4-6 months. Good luck with them!
