Hello all. I'm a little worried about my male veiled, and am hoping I'm just overreacting to something I haven't seen yet. It wouldn't be a first, but I figure it would be better to be safe than sorry. He is displaying a dark, muted, coloring, which I've read wasn't usually good. I can say for...
Haha great name for the Pothos! Yeah, my poor Pothos is quite literally being eaten alive. Good thing they call it the unkillable plant. Hopefully someone else will comment though, just in case I'm completely wrong. Especially if its coloring is off due to lighting. ^^
Looks like Jade Pothos to me. Though, I'd love to get another opinion on that. Jade Pothos is usually that dark green, and it has a sort of heart shape leaf. Though, Silver Pothos is known for that sheen yours seems to have. The lack of the white/silvery markings is the only thing that makes me...
I use a climbing vine plant called star jasmine that blooms small white flowers. Its pretty and also grows all on the walls of the enclosure, and serves as extra vines for my chameleon to climb on. You have to rig up something for it grow onto though. I've put a sort of green plastic...
What’s your light schedule? How many hours are they on for? I have mine set for 8am to 8pm. Sometimes he goes to his spot 30 mins early at most, but most often it’s usually only about 5 to 10 minutes before. That is, if he makes his way down there early.
As everyone is saying, it really depends on the chameleon. My guy loves pothos leaves...like...too much. The poor plant's leaves are almost all chewed down. Its a good thing that it grows so easily, and is unfazed by my chameleon's destruction upon it and continues to get new growth.
I definitely recommend reading the care sheets that they posted above as well as researching independently - especially being that you have a female. Also, I'm surprised no one else mentioned it (unless they did and I'm blind), but if you don't know the humidity you need to look into getting a...
Exactly my thoughts as well! I might give up the quest to get him to eat one until he’s older. Maybe after some time he’ll get a little bored of the crickets he so loves. ^^
Hello all. I got a male veiled chameleon a few weeks ago that I’ve been trying to feed a few different types of worms to, but he doesn’t even seem to acknowledge their presence. Well, besides one time when one got to close and he looked distastful at it then proceeded to shake it off his foot...
89-91 is defiantly better, but it's still on the higher side. I think it would be worth trying a 75W, especially if she's still staying away from the basking bulb. As long as the gradient temperature of the cage is also good I think it would be ideal. That's great she's not opening her mouth...
I think 150W is too hot. I believe you should try lowering back to 100W. 85-95 is what you want you want for the basking spot for a veiled, with the mid 80s being more ideal. I think 87 would be much more optimal, though 85 is probably best, some people say that the mid 90s can run too hot for...
He’s roughly 4 inches long, not including tail. Roughly is keyword. He runs when I get a little too close, and I had to measure fast. I don’t have the means to take weight at the moment, which makes me feel rather dumb being that seems like the easiest way to figure it out. I’ll look into...
Hello all, I have some questions about my veiled chameleon’s weight. I’ve been reading everything I could find on where they carry weight, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I just can’t tell. At certain angles he looks under weight and others over. I was wondering if someone could give their...
