    My new setup :)

Hmm, actually I think so. The back right corner (underneath the mister) has room to plant something smaller (probably about 4" diameter area). I'll stop by the greenhouse tomorrow. They had a lot of umbrella plants last time I went. I assume the roots will find their way around through the soil...

    My new setup :)

Sorry, this is the most updated picture. Same question about how much leaf coverage is bare minimum as my pothos grows?

    My new setup :)

Ok. Here is try #2. Add A LOT of horizontal paths and even some diagonal ones. The top is one strand of fake leaves while the pothos plants grow. Speaking of which, after two days a lot of the leaves and stems on the pothos vines I planted have started to stand up/look lively so I'm hoping they...

    My new setup :)

Those sides are glass so that should take care of humidity.

    My new setup :)

Ok...maybe one last question: is it at all beneficial to cover the back and left side (the glass sides) with a scenic wrap or just something solid on the outside? By beneficial I didn't know if it helps the veiled feel a little more secure with the closed in look or not?

    My new setup :)

One last question: since I'll have an iso CUC, do I just leave any droppings/feces from my veiled on the leaf litter/substrate? Or should I still clean up once a week like I used to with my old setups (sans bio active)?

    My new setup :)

Thanks! Starting on the redo right now. I also just picked about 50 leafs off the remaining Pothos vines I didn't use (it was a very large pothos plant I got) and will litter those around the bottom for a more natural look as well. And order some cork bark

    My new setup :)

Thanks! I'm going to take out the moss vines today, add a lot more fake vine roads tomorrow (just vines no fake leaves), and litter some more leaves and cork bark on the bottom. I am also in contact with James and he is recommending giant canyon iso's. Another question: should I cover every...

    My new setup :)

I have a piece of pvc pipe in the back left corner I can siphon water out of when necessary. So I probably need a lot more leaf litter than right? At the moment I only have a layer of one to two leaves thick. Whereas the soil guide says 1-2" of leafs....

    My new setup :)

Weird question but...will the CUC try to get out/crawl around the upper parts of the cage or just stay to the soil?

    My new setup :)

Yea I put the screen on that side as that's where the bay window is so on nice days I can open it and get a good breeze. And better sunlight (with curtains if it gets too hot). I'll shoot him a DM. I'll read up on the CUC, but other than adding them.... anything special I have to do or extra...

    My new setup :)

Ahh ok. The entire right side is screen btw...I definitely didn't want to go all glass. Can I add these with my my chameleon already in the enclosure? And what's a good place to buy them from/a good amount to get?

    My new setup :)

So I wasn't going for a full bioactive setup. Just a simple planted one that I'll clean up every weekend for poop and unwanted debris (save for natural leaves that fall off and cover the soil). I had thought this was okay to not add a cleanup crew then? And here is a picture of the fake leaves...

    My new setup :)

The arcadia bulb "counts" as a grow light, no? (UVA/UVB). I also have a large bay window right next to the cage that faces the west so it will get some natural sunlight in the morning and evening (though the glass will diminish the UV exposure of course). I plan on ditching the artificial...

    My new setup :)

Just finished putting together my new setup for a baby veiled I'll be receiving Tuesday from FLChams (from the Naval line, a very vibrant orange sire). Bottom is planted: 1" layer of clay pebbles, screen and weed barrier, then 5" of soil (made up of sponge moss, bark, sand, and eco earth). I...

Best single plant for an enclosure

I'll be making my soil per the Bio Active blog (so 1 part each of repti bark, moss, sand, etc). But I will not be doing fully bioactive with bugs and such living in the soil/dying and providing soil nutrients. Is there a chameleon safe soil additive to use for providing nutrients for plants?

Best single plant for an enclosure

How quickly will the vines grow? There were a few at the greenhouse I went to with a couple of vines already about 12" long but was hoping to be able to fill out the cage relatively quick. I'll have plenty of fake leaves and vines for the veiled as well but wanted to make sure he also had a nice...

Best single plant for an enclosure

Are there recommended places to purchase online? Josh's Frogs has some plants I like. Not sure what other sites people use?

Best single plant for an enclosure

I'll be receiving a small juvenile/baby veiled. Would it be safe to still use a plant from a greenhouse without giving it a few weeks to "remove" anything sprayed or absorbed by the plant? Or should I buy online from a trusted vendor?

Best single plant for an enclosure

I think the worry is/was what if my chameleon ate one of the leaves and it still had a chemical (fertilizer, insecticide, etc) still present in it?
